Ethan was a born player—oh, as his friends phrase it, he’s a"charming rogue."
When I suggested breaking up,he visibly relaxed.
The humiliating"breakup party",he forced me to attend, thrreatening to ruin my whole future otherwise.

Before blacking out,I heard a soft female voice.
"Ethan,baby,she looks..."
Ethan said,"Just ignore her."
In the chaotic bar,he didn't care about my safety...
Or just didn't care about me.
His cold indifference shredded me.

Why come back to say this now?
I found out that when people had so many feelings mixed in their heart, surprisingly they became extremely calm.
"Writing a novel?Or you got a camera hidden somewhere, ready to post me online for people to curse me?"
"If you'd stayed out of my life,I might've respected you."

I threw the words he once said to me back to him, syllable by syllable.
Ethan's face paled,voice hoarse.
"...Sorry."
"Sorry?"I kicked wildly at him.
"Think you could fix everything with one sorry?"
"What do you want me to say? It's fine??"
"It is fine—between you and me!"
Ethan took the blows,grunting occasionally.
"It's not fine,Lily."
"I was blinded, thinking you weren't the girl I fell in love with at the beginning."
"But I always cared!"
"Living together,I never made you worry about money once, right?"
"Knowing you were pregnant, you can't imagine how happy I am..."
"Just call it one mistake.I'm sorry,I'll be your servant.Let's start over, okay?"
My unspoken words caught in my throat.
The last time Ethan bowed,I forgot why.
He was proud,lofty;I wasn't.
One bow from him stirred up a huge storm in college
Everyone said I treated Ethan like a dog.
But I’m the one who loved more,I’m the fool.
I chuckled,voice flat.
"Keep being the playboy."
"Apologizing?Anyone can do that."
"And...the kid's not yours."
Ethan froze.
"Lily, don't talk nonsense. You only loved me—for the past eight years!"
I said coldly,"Eight years?You don't care,I don't care."
"He doesn't care either."
He was incredulous."Lily, don't go too far. You're pregnant!"
"What lunatic would have you?"
"Getting close to other girls was my fault, but I'll change!"
"You want to work?I'll give you opportunities!"
"Can he?"
"He's probably worse than me!"
I stayed silent,watching.
The blonde was his childhood friend,Noah had told me.
She studied abroad, but Ethan flew to her for birthdays, holidays.
At that time I still believed the love we had for each other and never questioned him.
Her messages were less about provoking me,more about claiming ownership.
I wanted to laugh.
Ethan called Noah a lunatic.
So,after that night,I gave Noah a detailed background check.
No women—few friends.
From working 16 hours a day to pay rent to becoming a CEO in three years.
Yet he made space for me instantly.
Ethan,though...
To him, perhaps someone like Noah was indeed a lunatic.
I laughed."Ethan,does Chloe know you're here?"
Chloe,the friend.
Ethan's eyes lit up.
"One word from you,and I’ll never contact her for the rest of my life!"
"We'll get married now!"
I smiled."Isn't it clear? You and her are together, I’m an outsider."
"Maybe your family wants my kid—wants to take the child then divorce me."
My face showed no emotion, and the flutters in my heart were fading too.
"When with me,you thought of Chloe."
"When with Chloe, you love me again."
"You don't love.You're just greedy."
