The night wind in the early morning still couldn't blow away the irritability in my heart.
That middle-aged man had been added to my list of conmen.

I even had my dinner in District C,which was enough to prove all this.
Ghosts are illusory, but the food in my stomach is real.
After much persuasion,I finally got the HR staff not to tell the boss about my crazy outburst tonight.
I slapped my face and looked at the bloodshot eyes in the mirror.I let out a sigh of relief.
Maybe I'm just not used to being a night-shift food delivery rider in the old urban area.
But for the high profits of the night-shift orders,I still resolutely twisted the handle of the electric scooter.

Facing the silent and dark District C,this time, whether it was the Weasel Spirit or a parade of ghosts, nothing could stop my determination to make money by delivering food.
As the saying goes, people die for wealth, and birds die for food. This is exactly the case.
As the headlights of the scooter swept over the uneven streets, with my excellent scooter riding skills,my driving skills today even exceeded my normal level. The food delivery box on my back didn't jolt at all.
Soon I picked up the food delivery outside District C,humming a song casually, and drove into District C calmly.

Sure enough, practice makes perfect. With the help of the young man from the company,I had no fear at all of the dark streets and the old low buildings nearby.
The howling night wind blew up the corners of my clothes, but it no longer stirred up any ripples in my heart.
For some reason, this journey seemed a bit familiar. It seemed that I turned into that familiar alley again.
I looked at the last four digits of the order number on the food delivery, which seemed to indicate once again that this was...the place where the young man who gave me the tip ordered from the other night.
This time,I won't be afraid of that guy who played a prank.
On the way,I didn't see the Weasel Spirit either, and the journey was much smoother.Until I came to that low building again.
As the streetlights flickered slightly, the young man seemed to have been waiting for me here for a long time.
He was still wearing the same clothes as that day, with that ambiguous smile on his face.
And I had already seen through his prank. For some reason,I felt even more heroic in my heart.
I parked the scooter almost perfectly in front of him and looked at the young man in front of me without any hesitation.
"It's you again. It seems you have a good appetite in the middle of the night. There should be no tip this time, right?"
I taunted the young man sarcastically. The young man's smile froze a bit.He didn't expect that I had become so bold tonight.
Then I vaguely saw that his smile widened even more, looking even more eerie, but it couldn't shake... the heart of a food delivery rider who was striving to make money.
Whether you're a human or a ghost,as long as I can get the commission for your order,I'm not afraid of you.
"There's no tip. You're much bolder tonight than the night before last.Have you already gotten used to this place?"
The young man still spoke in that empty voice,as if his throat was a bellows, making sounds one after another. No wonder he scared me the other day.He really had some tricks.
I leisurely took out the still somewhat hot food delivery from the delivery box and handed it to the young man in front of me.
I suddenly remembered that this guy seemed to have said something about there being ghosts everywhere that night, which made me get scammed out of a hundred dollars yesterday afternoon and even be suspected of being crazy.I felt even more resentful.
"This place is quite nice. It's not really that strange. What gods and ghosts? This is the age of science. There's a sentence on the Internet recently, what was it...Oh,no spirits are allowed to become demons after the founding of the People's Republic of China!Of course, there are no ghosts either."
I sneered and teased the young man,but as someone determined to be the most hardworking night-shift food delivery rider,I didn't continue.
The young man took the food delivery from me.As his fingertips became even longer and colder than the day before yesterday,I saw for the first time that someone's fingertips could be so sharp and cold.
The young man looked at me in surprise, but quickly returned to normal.
Just then, for some reason, the flickering streetlights seemed to stop flickering.
The young man carefully examined me,and then a glint of light flashed in his eyes. This glint made me tremble slightly tonight.
He gave a strange laugh. As the streetlights gradually stabilized,I realized that there was no trace of blood on his face, and he looked a bit sickly.
"You'll soon be just like me..."
This inexplicable sentence left me confused.Just like what?
I looked at the young man's thin figure, his body almost pressed against the wall under the streetlight, while I was a rough guy nearly six feet tall.
"I have to work the night shift and don't have time to order food delivery.Remember to give me a five-star rating.Have a good rest."
For some reason, when facing this young man,I still felt a chill. It seemed that it would be better to have less to do with such a person in the future.
I gave the young man a deep look, and he also gave me a deep look. That mysterious and eerie smile finally made me feel a bit timid.
I nodded to him, then twisted the handle of the electric scooter and left the place as fast as I could.
As I looked in the rearview mirror, the young man raised his hand and waved slightly at me,and his figure seemed to almost merge with the wall.
"We'll meet again soon."
I wasn't sure if it was the sound of the wind or the words that the young man's lips seemed to murmur.I increased my speed again and left this gloomy street.
