Chapter 181: A Friendly Chat

It was pretty clear to everyone in the inner circle that it was Arielle that set her up, Brielle had confirmed that Arielle was indeed sighted at the premises of the prison at that night, her face was shown as she was using her signature face cap and mask, she had her hair well-kept in her cap and didn't made any silly mistake like letting a strand of her hair remain in the murder scene, she had gloves and boots on and that's why no DNA of her was found on the scene.
Though there was no assurance that she would be able to get Melissa out of the prison if she interfered, she would at least get a reduced sentence of a punishment lighter than the initial one that she would suffer.
Things were pretty tight, Mike told her that he got information from that female detective that most of Melissa's employees had rushed in to testify against her, she had a very bad relationship with Felix and they used to fight every now and then, they threatened to kill each almost every time they had a fight and that Melissa once said that she wished that she could stroke Felix's face in with a racket_ and now a tennis racket and hockey stick aren't in the least different since they are both used to hit balls.
The coincidences are not turning in favor of Melissa and Karma came to her in the form of her employees.
‘Tch. That's what happens if you don't treat your employees the right way. They turn on you at the slightest opportunity they get and we all have to agree that Melissa is a downright bad bitch who would fire you for any fucking reason and make you stay overtime without any pay. She also held some salaries and disposed of some people, don't sweat it Sapphire. This is her own tribulation and god so help her, she would not pass it I pray.' Luci had said to her when the newscaster mentioned her in her news.
She knew that Melissa probably deserves it for every single life that she had ruined, she knew that she was not going to help Melissa out of it and she couldn't help but feel weird about it, it didn't brought any sense of happiness to her like she thought that it would when she wished day and night for them to disappear but now that it came to reality, she realized that revenge was only sweet and nostalgic when it was heavy but under your control and without Karma's intervention.
Karma intervened in this and she just want to press a pause button on the events that seemed to have been ordered to move five times faster than the right pace, maybe if all of the things that had happened lately had happened at two, three of four months intervals, maybe she would have the cheeks to smile about it, the only event she was truly happy about and couldn't find a hint of shame in was Oliver's case, it was right like she wanted, the man would wake up but be at her mercy, she would exert command which he must follow, he only hopes with her heart that Karma would never fuck it up too or when it does, it is to her pace.
She looked at her left when she heard the rustling in the garden and before she could ask what it was about, one of the men that Alexander had made sure lurk around her twenty four seven showed up with a rabbit in their hand, Sapphire furrowed her brows in thought and small smirk appeared on her lips but she just nodded her head at them and continued her walk.
There was also an element of surprise in the turn of event, her father wasn't as useless or a semi existent male doll that only listened to his wife, he appeared to be very aware of everything that is happening around him, contrary to her previous thoughts, it was just that he preferred to blend into the background.
He was the one that picked her at her second attempt at suicide and toss the doctor her way, he had also been eliminating all source of threats that came her way. It wasn't that her grandmother didn't want her to come home like she believed but that she really couldn't find her, her father was the one that shielded her from all of them.
He was aware of every single thing she did and most coincidences where she just thought that she was lucky weren't luck but her father precisely executed plans that provided escapes for her.
The only lucky things at the end of it all were her friends, the kids and Alexander's love for her, and they surprisingly were all she ever needed.
She was not looking at them when she was searching but when she got them, they were all her heart ever looked for.
She heard a loud thud behind her and turned to see that two men that had been following her were now on the floor, blood leaked from the parts of their body that had been shot, she felt that air at the back of her neck rise and she turned swiftly and held who was behind her by their neck at the same time they clutched their hands around her throat too, but she also felt the weight of the gun against her stomach and smirked.
Arielle tightened her hold and Sapphire did the same and they both grunted in pain at the same time.
'Bitch!" Arielle said.
'Have been waiting for you? You got quite the nice place at that hole of yours? Why did you get out of there? Did you get tired of it?"
'You sure have a lot of guts for someone that a gun is being pointed at." Arielle spat at her and Sapphire only made kisses sounds at her with a wink which made Arielle glared at in disdain.
'And you have a lot of guts at disposal since you just rolled your way into the Aldine's residence _i am not going to ask you how_, killed two of there__"
'Five, actually, those two were the last."
'You are sick, so that doesn't surprise me, you have no qualms with killing all the women you have worked with since god knows how long and throwing your friend since middle school under the bus." Sapphire said with a smile. 'And even with a lot of armed men at every corner of the wall, you still point a gun to my belly, it means you are prepared to die alongside the enemy. Which pretty much explains that the retirement at a beach in Miami with a lot of zero behind a single positive number is not the reason you went bat shit crazy," Sapphire said.
'Stop talking, I will kill you right now!" She yelled at her.
'We have passed the line where we would both pretend that you won't have the tendency to pull that trigger and turn me to ghost, so I am just going to talk and make the best of the night. Let's have a friendly chat with both of our hands on each other's throat. Answer me truthfully, Arielle? What caused your craze?"
'What makes you think that I would tell you?"
'Because you have nothing to lose and we are having a friendly chat."
'Drop that gun at this instant of a bullet goes straight through your skull," Some yelled beside them and it was Luci, several men in suit had surrounded them and Alexander stood at the top of the balcony staring at Sapphire with a withered look, Sapphire only averted her gaze to continue staring at her mad cousin.
'I am afraid that your darling empress would have her intestine crawling on the grass before you do that, I have no fear of my brains being blown out, there wouldn't be anything that would make me gladder than going hand in hand with my dear cousin in the valley of death." She said with a look that only maniacs could have, excitement and satisfaction at the thought of that, she looked like she might pull the trigger anytime so everyone stood at their guards but were wary of her antics and didn't take any step further, lest she feels threatened or underestimated. It would probably be the latter with her though.
'You really are unhinged." Sapphire said and Arielle laughed. 'Why the fuck did you even killed the members of your family?"
'Family? I don't think they deserve that title anymore after what they did to my mother. You especially! You gave her false hope! You gave your word and broke it."
'Jeez, it is really hard to know how a psychopath's brain works. You have been wrecking all this havoc for your mother who ended her own life because she wasn't able to snatch the property like she originally planned to when she first set her eyes on your father? She was such a wacko, if she was alive now, she should have been smacked so hard that her eyes would roll to the back of her head."
'Sapphire," Luci said with warning in her voice, she should stop riling up the woman but Sapphire didn't listen, and she obviously heard but ignored it.
'Don't insult my mother."
'The entirety of your mother is an insult to her existence already, what more insult could be added? I only went to comfort her in the rain because I don't know what kind of snake she is. Who has an affair with her husband's brother, tries to kill her husband's mother and turns the entire family against each other while also running a brothel that illegally puts girls up for prostitution? She committed suicide not because of shame of what she did but because of what she didn't which is not being able to get the property she set her eyes on the moment she entered the family." Sapphire continued and Arielle's face had turned so red that it looked to be on the verge of explosion, her brows were knitted and her lips were bitten hard, the veins in her forehead bulged and she was shaking with lividness.
'Go to hell! I won't allow you to insult my mother, she is the best of the best." She yelled and pulled the trigger, it was hard to decide whether she knows that she pulled the trigger or not because she kept chanting to herself about her good of a person her mother was, and listing off endless good traits that none of them was to describe Daniella Conrad, whether it was to convince herself or people around her, no one would never know.
Sapphire had fallen to the floor with her hand on her stomach and the security had been able to get the gun away from Arielle and get her under hold when she let her guard loose because she didn't detect any movement from Sapphire.
