'Hi, is that Ms. Sapphire Aldine on the line?" Sapphire heard when she picked up the call.

'Yeah, who am I speaking to?" She asked with a small frown.

'This is Lawyer Gary Tom, I trust that you know who I am," He replied and she nodded in realization.

'Yeah, of course, I know who you are." Sapphire replied, stirring her coffee slowly.

Gary Tom is their family lawyer in his late forties, her grandmother's lawyer to be exact, so he takes care of all matters that involved the old woman when she was alive, there is no denying that he would be busy now that she is dead too.

She had been expecting his call, it is obvious that he would call sooner or later.

'What can I do for you, Mr. Tom?" Sapphire asked, raising the cup of coffee to her lips before she went to sit on the chair. She grabbed a book from the shed and sat down by the window. She was the only one at home and she enjoyed the feeling of being by herself.

She really needed some time to stay at home and think about all the things that had happened one after the other in quick succession.

Alexander was a really good partner to her too, he was sweet and patient with her, and she could feel that their bond became stronger after clearing the issue between them.

'I am calling to inform you that there would be a meeting at the Conrad Mansion, would you have time by 2pm this afternoon?"

'Are you going to read the will?"

'Yeah. I have informed others about it and they agreed to be present, I am afraid I can't push this further than necessary," he answered.

'Very well lawyer, I would be there soon," she replied and the call was disconnected from the other side.

She glanced at the clock, it was a little past twelve which man's she had some time to get ready, she didn't plan to show up at the mansion looking like a wreck.

—----------------------

Two hours later, she stood at the entrance of the mansion dressed in a beautiful and ridiculously expensive black dress, black gloves covering both her hands and she carried a black bag.

She is about to meet a bunch of hypocrites so the least of the things she could do is not to be underdressed, she have to show them how strong she is and her hunch tells her that most of the people present in the mansion at the moment won't like what they are about to hear.

She pressed the doorbell and waited for a bit before a maid opened the door of the mansion, she greeted her and Sapphire nodded back at her with a pleasant smile playing in her lips. The woman was slightly surprised by her expression but you could tell that it wasn't much of a shock.

Everyone already knows that Sapphire Conrad stopped being rude to everyone except the Conrads themselves.

'They are waiting in the private living room," she informed her and Sapphire nodded in appreciation.

'Thanks a lot," she said quietly. 'Don't bother yourself with leading the way, I am sure that I can navigate through the entire building myself, I know that you have a lot of other things to do," she informed her and the woman nodded with a small smile before going to the way that led to the kitchen.

Sapphire walked to the door with the PLR sign and exhaled, this room holds more significance to her than the entire house itself.

Two decisions that affected her life greatly were made here, with a bunch of people present, the only similarity it had with the first time is that her grandmother isn't present here.

She pushed the door open and entered, her five inch heel making a steady and rhythmical sound.

'Hi Lawyer Tom," Sapphire greeted him cheerfully and didn't bother to spare the rest of those present a glance, all of them were worth the seconds she would spare to do that.

'Hello Sapphire, I would say that it has been a while," Lawyer Tom said .

'Not too long of a while doctor, we saw each other at the funeral party, we just didn't have time to talk," she replied and the lawyer nodded, Marylynne scoffed at them.

The door opened and Aunt Brielle, Matthew and Max entered the room, making everyone available.

Both Max and Matthew waved at Sapphire and she smiled back at them.

'Since everyone is present in this room, I won't waste any more time. I would begin the reading of the will," Lawyer Tom said and his young assistant which he brought along passed around a file to each and everyone of them. At least Sapphire assumed that he is his assistant but she is sure that she had never seen him before.

'In that file in your hand is the property you inherited from late Madam Emiliana, I would appreciate it if anyone of you ask your questions now that I am available, I wouldn't be sitting with you personally to discuss you terms and arguments," Lawyer Tom said loudly, knowing how much of an headache the Conrad family actually is.

'Wow, grandmother left me a billion dollars?!" Max asked with wide and excited eyes as he raised his head from the paper in his hand. 'And there's more!"

Sapphire stared at the list in her hand and saw that it wasn't much of a list, out of all the things that her grandmother has, she listed five things for her here.

Would these things upset all the entire members of the Conrad families except two people?

It damn right would.

She could see the frown beginning to form on Melissa's and Marylynne face, Felix's face was blank, both Matthew and Max were contented and Brielle couldn't be more nonchalant but Arielle and Venita had this happy look on their face, Sapphire knows that it would be wiped off in a bit.

'I think something is wrong with this, Mr. Tom," Melissa was the first person to speak and the lawyer raised a brow at her.

'I think not. That's exactly what was left for you," Mr. Tom said in a firm voice.

'Some estates, some companies, ten billion dollars?, a trust fund? And many other useless things I didn't ask for. Why isn't it listed in this!" Melissa yelled angrily.

'Because that's not how a will works, you don't get what you want, the deceased gives you why she wants to give you, both of you having the same thought is s stroke of pure luck," Mr. Tom said in an even voice shh made Melissa scoffed sarcastically, as if she couldn't believe her ears.

'Who cares about what she wants to give me, I want what I want and everyone else here knows it," Melissa snapped.

'Too bad, that's not how it works, either you take it or you leave it, your choice and frankly I don't care because it doesn't affect me in the least," The lawyer replied calmly, not phased in the least by Melissa's tantrum.

Marylynne glared at Sapphire with stink eyes before marching directly up to her and snatching the paper from her; she was only able to collect it because Sapphire released it.

'Let's see how much of a cheating the damned ghostly witch did before she dropped dead," Marylynne said, raising the list.

'That can't be more than five, I mean, it is so small and nearly invisible on the paper," Venita scoffed in mockery but Sapphire merely glanced at her with a small nearly invisible smirk.

'Did you lose touch with her right before she died? Even I had a lot of things listed in here, more than fifteen when I counted them." Arielle added. 'But it is okay, you discovered what she did to you so it is no biggies, I kind of expected this."

Sapphire still said nothing and just continued to stare blankly, they looked like a bunch of comedians to her.

'What?!" Marylynne said with a scream and everyone stared at her in shock, except Sapphire and the lawyer, even the assistant flinched a bit.

'What the hell?" Aunt Brielle said in irritation to Marylynne who seemed too shocked to move, she walked towards her and snatched the paper from her.

'To Sapphire Aldine, I refuse to call you Conrad because we don't deserve to call you a part of our family," Brielle read out loud.

'More like she doesn't have the qualities it takes to be a Conrad," Arielle interrupted.

'By qualities, do you mean the ability to remain an utterly selfish prick who is daft and self centered to the core? If it is, then I am afraid you are right," Sapphire said with a calm expression and Arielle was speechless for a bit, opening her mouth and closing it while trying to come with a befitting comeback.

'The position of the CEO at the family company is now yours. Yours to do anything with," Aunt Brielle read and everyone stared with wide eyes, Melissa had the expression of someone who was betrayed by their trusted ones.

'You own fifty percent of every company that I own, you would be the major shareholder in all those companies, my shares are now yours." she continued further and they were gasps from everyone in the room, even both Max and Matt were surprised.

'All the investments in anything that had to do with children and teenagers would automatically become your kids' discussion with the lawyer about the trust fund I set up for them."

'What the hell is going on?" Venita asked.

'To you Sapphire, there's fifteen billion dollars and to your kids, a hundred million dollars to each of them."

'Wow!" Max exclaimed and his father glared at him but he couldn't care less, he was happy for her cousin who is finally getting everything she deserved.

Matthew also had a smile on his lips as he waited for the last thing on the list to be ready, he knew that it wouldn't be pleasant for most of them present because she could see the ghost of smirk playing on his mom's lips.

'And lastly, the ownership of the Conrad Mansion has been passed to you, to do anything you want with."

'What?!" All of them exclaimed in shock all at once.
