'Hi, Mr. Alexander," Andreana said into the phone.

'Hello, darling," Alexander said, pausing what he was doing as soon as he heard the cute little girl's voice.

'How was your day?" She asked and he smiled, pushing his laptop backwards.

'It was nice and yours?"

'Mom told me that I would make her look like a fucking lunatic if you saw the twenty five miss calls on her phone, I called you but you were not picking I had to sneak her phone."

'No cursing sweetheart, and that was you?" He asked and Andreana chuckled.

'Shh," she said, placing her index finger on her lips. 'That's a world secret, I told her that it was Andrew and they are still on it, he is trying to prove himself innocent while I chill here in front of the TV," she said and pop a cookie in her mouth.

'Well…isn't that a bad thing to do to your brother?" He asked and Andreana itched her head.

'Is it? I didn't know but there's nothing else to do,"

'She may end up punishing him,"

'That's right,"

'You should have told her that it may have dialed itself, make it look like her phone is faulty and have her doubt the phone, then get her to doubt the quality of her phone," he explained and Andreana nodded in wonder.

'Dad, you are so smart," she said in excitement before covering her mouth with her. 'I can call you that right? That's what I call you in my head"

'Of course darling, so why did you called in the first place,"

'Right, Aunt Luci and her Aunt Claire agreed to live with you, expect us by tomorrow, I am so excited, we get to live with you and oops— Mom is here, I gotta go now," she said and hang up.

Alexander stared at his phone in surprise before smiling, the girl is cute.

He called dailed Sapphire's contact and she was the one that picked up this time.

'I saw all your missed calls, it had been hardly two days, do you missed me tha much?" He asked, a smile on his face.

'That wasn't me," Sapphire said and Alexander hummed. 'That wasn't me, I wouldn't call your phone twenty-five times, I am not that stupid, the maximum time you should call someone is five times"

'How would I believe that it wasn't you, the phone called all by itself?"

'Of course not, a phone can't dail itself _ shut up Andrea, stop saying the same gibberish that Alexander is saying, I am beginning to suspect that you are the one that did it," Sapphire said to Alexander before her attention was on Adreana who was also trying to convince her to agree with their nonsense.

'Don't put the blame on the girl, you don't want to admit that you did it," Alexander teased, a smile on his face and Sapphire groaned.

'Sweet baby Jesus, Alexander you–"

'Okay, okay. let us agree with this. You are the one that called me five times-"

'I didn't,"

'And whatever entity it was called me twenty minutes,"

'Mom, remember to tell dad that we are moving into his house tomorrow, he should get ready to welcome us," Andrew said, entering the dinning room.

'He is not your dad!" Sapphire said to him, she already had her phone on speaker and it was on the table.

'I don't see the difference, he is your husband, that automatically makes him our father," Andrew said shrugged.

'A fist bump for you, Andrew," Alexander said and Sapphire rolled her eyes.

'I heard that your sister is scary, Aunt Luci told me that, would she give mom a hard time," Andrea asked.

'Not on my watch but since I won't be there everytime, I am telling you this. Your mother is a very lovely person, she attracts goodwill everywhere she goes. Alyssa won't have any other option than to love her, they would get along really well," Alexander said and both kids smiled, they stared at Sapphire who was just staring at the phone with a small smile on her face and a blush on her cheeks.

'Now, you are going to make mom swoon," Andrew said.

'Don't worry, she would like you guys too, you have so many things in common that it won't take anything for you guys to get along,"

Sapphire and Matthew sat opposite each other at a cafe, they were just staring at each other, both of them refused to talk.

After the call with Alexander, she had came to meet him because he called.

Matthew cleared his throat, it was obviously awkward. The tension was in the air but Sapphire just kept staring at the guy, unless he spoke she wouldn't.

"How are you," He finally asked and Sapphire just nodded her head.

"I know you probably didn't miss me and it's because of what I did?"

"And what is it that you did, you went to Canada three weeks to my wedding, surely you are not supposed to feel sorry especially when the marriage didn't work later," she said and sipped her juice.

"Uhm, about that, why didn't you talk to me about it?"

"Oh, I should have called the line that wasn't always available?" She questioned and he swallowed.

He was surprised by how straightforward she had become, she used to be so happy every time she saw him, it was like a switch was flipped.

They used to be so close and tell each other everything.

"I think you should ask the questions you really wanted to ask and stop beating around the bush,"

Matthew adjusted himself on the chair and looked straight into Sapphire's eyes.

"Why are you getting married into the Aldine family?"

"Is that what you really wanted to ask," she asked and he nodded sheepishly. "Why the hell are you against all my marriage, you took the plane three weeks to the former one," she asked but he only looked away.

"You won't tell me but I think that it is high time you are honest with me and yourself, until you give me a candid reason why you do all these I will continue to act indifferent," she said and stood up.

She looked around the cafe and breathed out, it was almost ten pm but the place was still bright and lively, she suddenly missed Gisborne.

New York is just too crowded.
