She could feel eyes on her and she knew that she wasn't overdressed, she was in quite comfortable clothes and she used no designer bag that screamed, 'check inside me, you will definitely find some notes.'
But her body shape is a total attention magnet, she is beautifully curvy and she knew that.
A woman came to meet her and she realized that she must have been standing like a fool for the past few minutes.
"Do you have a reservation ma'am or are you just on the way out," the woman asked politely in a condescending way and Sapphire stared at her for a minute.
In the past she would have made a fuss about the tone and given a quick witted answer and that's if that happened because everyone knew her from two years ago, she was a total immature bitch who came from a rich family by the way.
She was just glad people have moved on from the scandal and she was not surprised, she learned very early that whatever happens to you is your problem, people might be there and get involved but at the end of the day it's still 'just' your problem.
"Uhm, let me call to check," she said quietly but confidently, she fiddled with her phone and realized she left it at home.
"So, are you going to get out already?" Now her tone was clearly mocking but she managed to say it so politely.
"Of course not, I will just wait for a few minutes for the guy," She said calmly and the woman gritted her teeth in annoyance, she was clearly irritated that her words had not irked her.
Sapphire knew the woman would just have to try harder if she wanted to piss her off, so much harder.
She had become immune to snide remarks after her fiance posted on social media about their break up and how it's her fault, he cooked up a story that she almost believe it, it was THAT GOOD, the backlash was bad, netizen are just the worst, they tore her soul apart that she almost sent it away by herself.
"And why would she get out already when she's with me," a deep voice pulled her out of her head and she looked sideways only to come eye to eye with him, her new fiance.
He has hair so black she wondered if he used some treatment to make it that black, a sharp jawline that could most definitely cut through air, bristly eyebrows, high cheekbones, his pale pink lips were pressed into a thin line and he had this shade of gray eyes that made other colors look pale in comparison, yeah, she knew that gray wasn't that much of a color but the way intensity behind those two orbs make them sparkle when they caught the light was downright amazing, whatever god made this man did no justice to others, he just had to give him those flawless tan skin with absolutely no blemish.
She finally remembered why her heart beat hard against her ribcage anytime he is near, nobody would be able to resist gawking at such a fine man and she is only a woman.
Sapphire knew they saw each other at that first breakfast or whatever it is called that their family had to celebrate their engagement, and she thought he was handsome, but being able to see his features up close was definitely something else, those perfect nose and the way his eyelashes rest on his cheekbones when he blinked and how pristine he looked in that navy suit, he was out-and-out hot!
"I am so sorry, Mr Aldine, I didn't know that she was with you, my apologies sir," Sapphire heard the rude woman stutter out trembling when she pulled out of the oneirism that his presence pulled her into.
Alexander just glared at the woman, his almost shooting out laser beams.
'You won't talk to her like that, you would respect her and attend to her like the most important customer that she is or you should be ready to say goodbye to this job and any other job," he growled at the lady and she cowered.
Sapphire felt happy or was it relieved? Nobody ever handled a matter like this for her and she wasn't sure if she liked the feeling.
"Let's go," he said to her curtly and walked in the opposite direction and the woman didn't dare raise her head when it was just her, that was what she used to love the most at sometime in her life about this world of the rich, the class recognition and sucking up to those higher in the hierarchy but she sure as hell hate it since the past two years of her life, she realized in the hard way that in this cozily cold world of theirs that the higher you are, the mightier the fall and maybe hers was just the mightiest fall to ever happened in their domain.
She quickly followed and she swore that this establishment must be worth billions of dollars just by the interior design, the hierarchy clearly portrait through the difference in each suit and of course Alexander has to choose the most expensive of it all, she should not expect anything less from the man if he was any rich like the media had said but she knew not to believe the media they are such a bunch of liars by the way.
Just after Alexander entered the room he booked for them, a man came out of the room next to her and she almost froze on the spot but the appearance of a little Luci on her shoulder cussing at the man and glaring at her made her remain calm and collected.
The man's eyes turned to saucers, he stopped and didn't make it discreet that he's staring at her from head to toe, almost analyzing her and comparing to the girl he used to know and he must have seen that that girl was dead judging by that surprise glint that remained in his eyes.
