"We thought you wouldn't come. How are you?" Bella asked, feeling concerned.
"I'm okay." I sat down.
"Am happy you came Sharon." Stephen sat not too far from me. I didn't quickly notice he was there.
"Does your leg still hurt?"
"Why would I be using crutches?" I say.
"Are you uncomfortable with me after your confession?" Stephen couldn't wait for me to give the news.
"Ugh... I said it was a mistake!" I left the class. I don't want to argue with him. He might tell Bella everything.
"Sharon." I heard someone call my name. I actually thought at first that it was Stephen but that wasn't even close to his voice. I turn back only to see the one person I had never expected. Patricia came to school today. I try to give a smile as she walked towards me.
"How could you?" She felt so disappointed and angry.
"Of all people, you. I trusted you. I can't even imagine you secretly dating my boyfriend."
I was out of words. I didn't know what to say. I knew this would still happen but I wasn't expecting it now.
"You don't understand." I finally said.
"Understand? Lie! Lie! Lie to me that you don't have feelings for him. Lie!" Patricia questions me, holding me by the shirt.
"I......don't." I deny.
"Liar! You boyfriend snatcher." She slaps me and pushes me to the floor.
I groan in pain as my legs hurt from falling. Stephen quickly pulled me up, disgusted at Patricia's behavior.
"Patrica, what do you think you are doing?" He rages.
"What? She stole you from me." She said with no feeling of remorse.
"What are you talking about? You broke up with me." Stephen reminds her
"Stephen, you know I love you. I didn't break up with you intentionally. You were cheating on me. I saw Mara with you. I was jealous. Please give me another chance." Patricia pleads.
"Patrica, it's over. I don't love you anymore." He stated clearly.
"Don't tell me that!" Patricia's tone changes into a rage.
"It's true. I love Sharon."
"No! No! Shut up!" She tries to fight back her tears. She wouldn't take his rejection.
"I love her." He repeats.
"Even if you love her, you will eventually end up with me."
"I don't want you. Don't you get that? I'm tired of this shitty relationship." Stephen didn't want to hurt her the more but she wasn't making it easy. I just stood there silent because I had no right to interrupt their intense conversation.
"You don't know what you are saying, Stephen. You are mine forever! You're mine! Does she know?!" She screams, unable to control her pain and anger.
"Know what?" I asked curiously.
"It's nothing," Stephen said.
Patrica laughs, not surprised Stephen was fooling around with me.
"So, she doesn't know. This scumbag doesn't know. Does she?!"
"What is this about?" I asked, trying not to lean on Stephen.
"You'll fall." He said silently.
"We have engaged, Sharon! WE ARE ENGAGED!" Patricia said loudly.
Those words struck me deeply. I can't believe this. It hurts. It really hurts. The guy I love is engaged with another girl but I shouldn't be hurting. It's not like we are already together. I pulled myself together. I looked at Stephen in the eyes with disappointment.
"So? What does it have to do with me? I told you, Patricia. We are not together. So you don't have to tell me your family issues." It hurt me as I said those words. Tears almost dropped from my eyes but I held it in.
"You're right Sharon but you need to get it into your head before you get deceived. In fact, you've been deceived! You fool!" Patricia said.
"Enough! It's enough Patricia! I've heard enough." Stephen said angrily.
"It's not enough Stephen. Why are you holding her? Let's go. Leave her alone." She pulled Stephen away from me.
I managed to pick up my crutches.
"You can go to hell with your fucking engagement. I don't care." I made that clear to her. I shouldn't even be bothered. I had nothing with Stephen. I'm just a random girl who got cut up with shitty issues.
I went back to the class to take my bag. After all I have heard, I needed to go back home. I'm even tired.
"You're leaving?" Bella frowned.
"Yeah, I'm tired."
"But that doesn't mean you should go back home. You just came."
"It doesn't matter."
"Please stay." Bella pleads.
"I'm sorry. I've to go."
"Are you coming tomorrow then?"
"I don't think so."
"What's going on?" Bella snapped.
"Nothing."
"What changed your mind?"
"Nothing, I'm serious," I assure her.
"Okay then. Come online tonight so that we can chat. I've got a lot of gossips."
"Okay, bye." I gave a faint smile.
I shouldn't have come in the first place. I still can't believe it. So, he was just planning to use me. Thank God it hasn't gotten far. Why did their parents do that to them? Why am I even bothered? As I was stepping out of the school, someone called my name.
"Sharon! Wait, don't go!"
I turned back to see who was calling me. I even thought it was Bella but it was actually Stephen. I didn't answer him. My dad's driver drove me home. What does he still want with me after I know the truth? I got down from the car and he drove off. I opened the door with a spare key. I took a bottle of alcohol to drink. I'm almost eighteen and I can do whatever I like. Thanks to my dad for having them at home. It was after I switched no the TV I heard a knock on the door. Who could it be now? We are not expecting anyone. I opened the door and saw.......
