Lilith's POV

An intense fear took hold of me, making me feel cold all over, and it seemed unyielding and harsh.

With determination, I shouted out, 'You will never be able to have me!" deep inside, I understood that my words were unlikely to have any effect on him.

I turned my eyes toward Adams, hoping to see some sign of reassurance from him, but sadly, he was caught up in a fierce struggle with Ben.

'Get behind me!" Adeline shouted fiercely, showing her teeth in a threatening way as she got ready to protect me.

However, Augustus's laughter filled the air, such a disturbing sound that sent shivers through my body.

'It's pointless," he said, lifting his hand and carelessly flinging Adeline away as if she were just a small bother to him. She fell onto the grassy ground, but as soon as she got back up, her anger burned even brighter.

'All of you are so weak and pathetic. Did you honestly believe that you could possibly oppose someone like me?"

'Augustus, you really don't recognize our true potential," I responded, trying to sound confident even though my heart was nervous. 'When you come here, you're going to discover that all you will encounter is failure."

Having said that, I could no longer hold back, and I gave Lexi the opportunity. She let out a loud growl that echoed deeply inside me. Power like never before flowed through my veins, like electric current.

As I transformed, my body began to ripple, and the sound of my cracking bones could be clearly heard.

This change was not like anyone I had ever experienced—it was very exciting and pleasurable. It made me feel incredibly strong.

'No!" Adams shouted loudly, trying to stop me, but I realized that it was already too late for that. I had made my decision, and there was no turning back. With a surge of energy I didn't know existed, Lexi jumped forward.

She aimed directly at Augustus, and felt a powerful drive within her. Her teeth were long, sharp and ready, as she prepared to attack him with all her might, as if she was going to rip him into pieces.

As their bodies came together with an unexpected and tremendous impact, it surprised and knocked them both off balance. He turned his body suddenly, and I felt his sharp claw scrape against Lexi's side. In response, she quickly swung her arm out at him, and her sharp teeth lightly touched his shoulder as she fought back.

"You have a lot of energy and determination," he teased with a smirk on his face, his eyes filled with darkness. "But in the grand scheme of things, you're still just a young and inexperienced child."

Lexi let out a low, throaty growl and pushed herself up off the ground, charging toward him once more with all her strength. However, he was prepared for the attack. With incredible speed, he extended his arm to block us, catching Lexi right in the middle of her lunge.

The force of his action lifted Lexi off her feet and slammed her hard into the ground. I felt a bright flash of stars erupt in front of Lexi's eyes, and a sharp pain shot through her body.

Despite the discomfort and the overwhelming urge to retreat, she knew it was not permitted to give up at this time. This was her moment to prove herself, and she had to stay strong.

"Bravo, Lexi, you are doing a good job," I encouraged her from within.

With a loud and aggressive growl that echoed in the air, she pushed up, and got back to her feet with determination. She charged at him again with everything in her, but he was faster than expected.

He quickly moved to the side, causing Lexi to go crashing past him instead of making contact. As she stumbled, she quickly turned around, prepared to leap at him yet again.

Just at that moment, a wave of instinctive worry washed over me, and I shouted at Lexi to be careful.

The surrounding atmosphere buzzed softly, almost alive, as his dark and mysterious magic wrapped itself tightly around his hand, preparing to launch an attack. With a fierce expression, he declared, 'This battle has reached its conclusion, small wolf."

She got ready to dodge out of the way, but when she jumped to avoid the attack, oh, what an error in her timing. Suddenly, Lexi became excited and fear rushed through me right when he started his attack.

Time seemed to be very slow, and at that instant, I realized my wolf was in a really dangerous situation. His strength was coming at her, and just as she waited for the blow, a huge figure came in unexpectedly. It was Ted—our my mate.

'Lexi!" Ted shouted, with his voice cutting through the noise.

He jumped and crashed into Augustus, stopping the deadly attack aimed at Lexi. They fell together, a tangle of bodies, but Lexi could barely breathe. Her heart raced as she watched Ted. I felt relief, but there was no time to enjoy it.

We stand together, remember? Lexi sent a message through their connection, the words flowing between them in a shared idea.

"I get it. Stay focused on him!" Ted said, like an order.

They moved around Augustus as one, staying together as they faced our tough enemy. Lexi went in first, jumping at his side, her teeth biting down, while Ted took his chance. His strong jaws hit Augustus's leg, making him stumble.

They fought together as a team. It was a mix of claws and teeth, a storm of wild anger. Lexi concentrated on making Augustus weaker, his magic fading more every second.

I realized Lexi couldn't deal him a blow that would stop him forever. Only Ted's sharper teeth and his natural skill to sense and exploit others' weaknesses could finish him off.

Instantly, Ted got up. His eyes were red with extreme anger. His claws became much longer and ready to deal the final blow to Augustus.

"Step aside, Lexi!" he ordered, and shut his eyes.

Without further warning, a terrifying wind started to blow - the type that I once experienced with him. Fog rose swiftly, and before long, the entire place was engulfed with darkness. But I was still able to see through, maybe because I was in my wolf form.

Ted's loud growl caused the ground to shake vigorously, and everything went haywire. Time, too, appeared to have halted. No one dared to make a move.

Augustus, who was looking confused, began to laugh. It was certain he did not realize the extent of what was coming his way, as Ted unexpectedly charged forward and bashed into him, pinning him to the ground.

Before Augustus could respond, Ted's claws found their way deep into his chest, tearing and stabbing him uncontrollably.

As Augustus got weaker, Ted brought his teeth down to his neck, and gave him the worst bite ever, shredding Augustus's neck to pieces.

The fallen king cried out, a noise of pure pain before he gave up, turning to dust and disappearing.

Then Ted got up from his previous position, and closed his eyes. The wind relaxed, and the fog thinned out.

With Augustus gone, the magic Ben had was lost, leaving his wolf unprotected. Ronan's wolf, quick and ruthless, struck like a flash, killing Ben's beast with one sharp hit.

The rogues, their leader now defeated, and their magic lost after Augustus died, started to pull back in fear.

Adams changed back into a human, his black hair stuck to his wet forehead, his breath uneven but his eyes shining with victory.

"Soldiers, rally!" he shouted, with his voice booming across the field.

His words brought back hope to his group. They stood up, shaking off the tiredness from fighting, their strength restored. Together, they went after the fleeing rogues, their victory roars mixing with the noise of battle.

I looked at them, and I felt a strong sense of pride growing in my chest. My heart was full of a deep and lasting love for my king, who is also my mate, the love of my life.

Standing next to him, in my human body, I felt a wave of thankfulness, a deep calm. Augustus was gone. The danger he brought was no more. The battle was finished.

We won…
