Cara took a moment to think with her forehead wrinkling with confusion as she tried to understand what I was saying. After a little while, she nodded her head, but it was clear that she still felt unsure about everything.
I shut my eyes once more, trying to dig deep inside myself to find the connection I was looking for.
The relationship that existed between Adams and I felt strong and full of energy, almost like a powerful electric current that was very real and could be felt.
With careful concentration, I stretched out my thoughts and feelings to that special bond we shared. "It is time to tie the knot," I thought, as I envisioned wrapping my arms around him gently.
'Adams!" The name echoed in my thoughts sharply and vividly.
Just a few minutes later the door suddenly burst open and in walked Adams. His focused gaze on me, and the intensity of his stare made my heart feel like it was soaring high in the sky.
'Lilith!" he said softly with his voice filled with urgency as he hurried over to where I was.
A look of relief washed over his face while lighting it up.
'Are you alright?" he asked with concern.
'I am feeling perfect right now," I answered, as I sat up.
'However, there is something important that I need to share with you about the visions I had."
'Visions?" he repeated with a look of concern on his face. His brow wrinkled as he focused intently on me, his eyes becoming sharp with curiosity.
'Can you tell me exactly what you saw?"
My heart started to beat really fast again as I thought about all the scary things I had seen.
I remembered the village that was on fire, the heavy chains that were used to hold the soldiers and the terrible figure of Augustus with that awful grin on his face.
'I saw his face for the very first time, Adams. The rogue king. He is truly frightening. I can feel that he is coming for me."
'Thornvale Village is on fire," he said while confirming the terrible news. His voice was filled with sorrow and heaviness as he spoke.
'He has finally taken action and unleashed his army which is causing destruction without restraint. As for the soldiers who have been taken prisoner..."
He stopped for a moment, visibly tensing as a muscle in his jaw tightened. 'There is a chance that some of them could be rescued."
I looked into his eyes and I felt like we shared an understanding. We had responsibilities that tied us together. That was true, but there was also something deeper, something that was stirring inside of me.
'But there's something more I need to tell you," I said while letting my thoughts spill out without holding back. 'I came across Augustus' past too.
He did not always behave the way he does now. There was a time when he was a priest dedicated to serving the moon goddess. However, his intense desire for power changed him into who he is now.
As a result of what he has become, he is now pursuing me because I have been chosen for something important by the goddess."
Adams' face changed as his previous expression turned serious.
I could see a strong and fierce protectiveness suddenly spark in his eyes, and it made my heart flutter with a mix of emotions.
He looked at me with such determination and intensity. 'Whether you are chosen for whatever is happening, we will do everything in our power to make sure he does not get to you. I promise you that, Lilith."
As he spoke, I felt his arm gently slide around my shoulders while pulling me in close to him. I felt a sense of warmth and security envelop me, something I desperately needed during such a troubling time.
'I understand," I said in a gentle voice almost like a whisper. As I spoke these words my heart began to fill with warmth and happiness because of the promise he had made. 'I really feel safe when I am with you."
I noticed that his expression changed, his eyes looked gentler as he leaned a little bit closer to me. He spoke with sincerity, 'I promise that I will always protect you and nothing bad will ever come your way."
'Do you really promise?" I whispered softly while feeling my heart beat quickly in my chest.
'Cross my heart," he said with his voice quiet and honest, a promise I really believed.
It felt like there was some kind of invisible power that brought us close together. Our lips came together in a soft yet urgent kiss that made everything else in the world to stand up.
I shuddered at the wet feeling between my legs. I wanted this so badly that I had cast away all my doubts.
It was as if time stopped completely, and at that moment it was just the two of us. All we could feel was the exciting beat of our hearts echoing in perfect harmony with each other.
As we separated briefly, our eyes locked together for just a moment.
Our eyes were wide open, filled with so many unspoken words and deep desires that seemed to hang in the air between us. Everything happening in the world outside seemed to vanish completely from our minds.
The moment felt so incredibly perfect that I found it impossible to resist.
He leaned in and kissed me again and this time it was filled with a passion that awakened something wild and exciting inside of me. Lexi came alive and purring very excitedly. And I sensed her making a connection with his wolf.
I could feel my fingers getting tangled in his hair and I pulled him closer to me, completely losing myself in the heat and intensity of this experience.
Just at the moment when my heart was fluttering with joy, Adams suddenly stepped back from me, much to my disappointment.
Hesitation sprawled all over his face, diminishing the excitement that had been shining in his eyes. He said, 'Lilith, please wait!"
'Why? What happened?" I asked quietly while feeling a wave of excitement rush through me even though my heart was beating faster and faster with each passing moment.
'I... I just don't want you to—"
'Adams, can you please stop talking for a moment?" I interrupted gently yet firmly, placing my hand on his chest and he groaned.
'What happened in the past was a long time ago, and I completely understand that we have both been through some very difficult times together. However, I really know what I want right now."
As I spoke, I reached out for him again, moving him closer to me. At that moment, our lips came together in a captivating embrace that felt like a beautiful dance.
'What I truly desire is to deepen our connection and fully commit to our mate bond."
He paused for a second, but then the spark came back in his eyes and he gave in to my touch.
'Yes," he said softly between kisses, his hands moving over my waist and I sensed his doubts disappearing.
At that instant, it was only us without anything coming between the shared desire we had. The warmth between us flared up and, pinning me to the bed, he claimed me by every means possible.
The taste of him inside of me was beyond imagination, as he continued thrusting in and out.
"It's coming!" We moaned simultaneously, as we both reached the level of ecstasy at the same time.
"Uhh!" I growled quietly in-between moans when I suddenly felt the sharp but alluring pain of Adams' teeth as he dug his mark of ownership into my neck.
Adams had finally claimed me, and I am overjoyed that I let him. He truly deserved me.
"Lilith, you are mine forever, and I love you with all of my heart." Those were the words sweeping into my ears as I drifted off...
