James frowned, extending his hand further.
"Sir? The key."
Wilson took a deep breath and suddenly grabbed James by the shoulders.
"She's fine, right? Today is our wedding day.
She promised me. She promised. This is all just a joke. I know it is..."
James hesitated, then nodded along, his face a mask of concern.
"Of course, sir. Everything will be fine."
Wilson smiled, though it looked more like a grimace.
"You think so too? Good. The wedding's about to start. I have a surprise for her, you know. She'll love it..."
As he rambled, he slowly turned the key in the lock.
As he pushed the door open, he was still telling James how surprised I would be.
But when the door swung wide, the smile died on his face.
"I" lay in a pool of blood, wearing a wedding dress, looking almost peaceful.
The once-white gown was now soaked crimson-black with blood, the stark contrast almost beautiful in its horror.
"MELODY!"
Wilson stood frozen for a heartbeat, then let out an animal howl and threw himself beside my body.
