"yeah...this kind of sucks you know?" I respond
"Yep." Sam sighs
"I just got used to this,us and the groupie thing." she adds
"Who would have thought we would be sitting here finding it hard to leave each other." I say
if someone a year ago told me this would be our situation,me,Sam and the Elites being best buddies,I'd slap them hard on the head with my textbooks.
I use to see these guys as jerks,well.. of course they are jerks,most especially when you view them from the outside and that's if you are not one of those girls who want them under your skirt and put aside theie stupid attitudes. They've become important people to me,and lastly,I'm so glad that Sam has found happiness. finally I'm at a place where I know for certain that Xander's feelings for Sam are real.
"yeah.. who would have thought Sam and Xan would be shagging."
"you shut up." Sam throws a popcorn at Lenny, Xander buries his head in the crook of her neck,the only sign of his laughter is the up and down shaking of his shoulders.
"Well at least Kim and I will be together,it's forever and always for you and me baby." Jonathan plants a kiss on my cheek. In a second,he's being flung backwards.
"Whoa!"
"Don't try something as stupid as that ever again." Brandon says calmly
"Captain!" Jonathan smiles to cover his surprise "boy did I miss you."
Brandon ignores him and comes straight to me,he hooks his arm around my shoulder and pulls me into him,then he kisses my temple.
Xander pulls Sam up and sits.
"Come here." he pulls her by the fingers and sits her on his lap
"What were you guys talking about?" Xander asks
"About how hard it is to say goodbye and the fact that we've grown so attached to each other." Sam explains.
"Then we should make the most of this last day." he kisses her behind the neck and visible goosebumps erupt on her skin.
my phone rings and I take it out,a very familiar number flashes on the screen requesting a video call. Izzy, Ronan's mom.
"Excuse me,I have to take this." I walk out of the room and go to stand on the patio, I hit accept
"Hi Izzy." I plaster a smile on
"Bella! my beautiful,I miss you so much,how are you? how've you been doing?"
"I've been doing great Izzy,how about you? you look so pretty and your skin is glowing."
"Well I've been better, moving on and putting myself first."
"That's great,I'm so happy for you."
"Thank you, you look good as well and as beautiful as ever."
"mmmm." I smile and lean my cheek on my shoulder
"By the way,I'm in Blackwool."
"Blackwool? really? when did you get here?"
"Just yesterday,I'm having a get together brai tomorrow afternoon and i was hoping you would come?"
"uh yeah,sure no problem,I can make time,I'll be there by one in the afternoon."
"Okay, perfect. oh and Kim?"
"Yes?"
"I know you and Ronan broke up but I'm still hoping you guys could patch things up."
Izzy knows Ronan and I broke up,but she doesn't know what he did on the last breakup,we just told her things weren't working out.
"Izzy...you know that's not-"
"I know I know,but there's still a bit of hope in my heart for you two, not to be nosy or anything,I'm just saying."
"Who are you talking to?" I hear Ronan asking his mother in the background, he then peeks and I catch his face.
"Oh, hi Kim,you coming tomorrow?"
"Uh.." well I thought Ronan left already "Yeah I am."
"Okay,cool. See you there then."
he dissapeares from the screen
"I have to go, see you tomorrow." I blow her a kiss and end the call.
I bring up mom's contact and get on a video call with her.
"Hi sweetie."
"Hi mum,how are you and Killian doing?"
"We are doing great sweetie,how are you?"
I sigh and lean my elbows on the patio
"honey..what's wrong?"
"Mom,I'm so confused,Izzy called and asked me to attend a brai at her new home tomorrow,I accepted without knowing Ronan would be there,I don't want to tell Brandon about it because it might upset him."
"Oh dear, I understand what you're saying,but Brandon has to understand that you and Ronan have a past,which makes the two of you have mutual friends,you can't always avoid each other,that's not how it works."
"Should I tell him?"
"Yes, Absolutely,you should tell him about it."
"Okay,thanks mum."
"Anytime sweetie,I have to put Killian to bed, goodnight,I love you."
"Sending kisses to Killian, goodnight and I love you too."
I end the call and head back inside, I think of a way to tell Brandon and assure myself it will all be fine. I keep looking at him the whole night,he's seated across from me with a hoodie covering his head. he turns and I quickly look away, the same thing repeats itself but this time around,he catches me,our eyes collide and we hold stares for a full minute. I look away and start up a conversation with Sam and Lenny.
It's half past Ten in the night, everyone starts dissapearing upstairs,we booked a house with five bedrooms,Sam and Xan,Me and Bran, Michael and Naomi,well we are trying to get along with her for Michael's sake and the fact that she apologized to us,but we are totally not friends, the rest of the guys get to share the remaining two.
I'm about to turn when a hand spins me back around,
"Hey." I look up at Brandon
he doesn't answer,he just keeps staring at me
"Are you okay?" I move closer to him
"Is there something you want to tell me? you've been giving me weird looks the whole night."
I tuck my lips in and take in deep breaths
"Izzy invited me for a get together tomorrow."
"And?"
"And I said yes."
"I don't see any problem with that,you can go."
"The thing is, Ronan will be there." I peek at him from under my eyelashes, his whole demeanor changes.
"I don't think you should go with me."
"Why not?"
"You know why."
"Is this some sort of reconciliation party she's trying to throw for you and Ronan? so that you'd get back together?"
"You eavesdropped on my conversation with her?"
"So I'm right then,she does want to get the two of you back together,were you even planing on telling me that part? And no,I wasn't eavesdropping."
"Brandon, I'm just avoiding any arguments between us that's all, besides,Ronan and I are a lost cause."
He stares at me unblinking,the moonlight giving an extra Glow to his emerald green eyes.
"Let's go to bed." he holds my hand and leads me up the stairs
Early morning,I wake up and take a shower. I made it clear with Brandon that there's no hope whatsoever for Ronan and I, he knows that too but the fact that there are important people to me out there who are still hoping for that old ship to sail again bothers him. I wouldn't blame him,the last time Ronan pulled my mental strings,I rushed to saving him without thinking about how I was going to hurt Bran by doing so, I've learned from that mistake and I'll never prioritize one person I love over the other. Not that there's that type of love for Ronan anymore.
I find Bran in the room texting on his phone with his back to me.
I hug him from behind.
"Hey, goodmorning."
"Goodmorning." he says back
"I've been thinking,I want you to go with me to the get together at Izzy's."
he turn in my arms and tucks strands of hair behind my ear
"Nah,I'm good,you can go alone."
"I want you to go with me."
"No,just do your thing baby, I trust you."
my heart warms at the fact and evidence that he really trusts me.
"About last night,it's not like I didn't trust you,I just want no secrets between us that's all."
"Really?"
he leans down and kisses me gently
"I trust you baby."
Izzy welcomes me warmly,she introduces me to some of her new friends too. The day goes by swiftly,I have a few words with Ronan, nothing awkward,just college stuff. He's going to NYU and getting into Business. After the get together ends,I go back home and spend the rest of the night with my family,Uncle Luca and his fiancee,mom and Killian.
I look back at the day Brandon came over for Sunday dinner,it was Killian's birthday,the same day I showed my family my engagement ring,they were so proud of me and welcomed Brandon in the family, but of course,they didn't leave out the part where they'd burry him alive if he hurt me,and that no marriage until we finish college,which is okay because that was our initial plan from the beginning.
I could never wish for anything more, I have everything I've ever wanted. My family,friends and my fiance,Brandon.
