Ethan laughed like I'd told a joke, heading inside without a word.
"You're fast.One day,and you've already changed the electric locks,deleted my fingerprint."
"Were you waiting for this day?"

"Kicking me out to take over?"
Getting no reply,he turned, seeing me three steps behind.
He swept his hair back.
Still a handsome heir, but his red-rimmed eyes betrayed his frustration.
I sensed his anger instantly.
"Lily,open the door."

I didn't move an inch.He strode over, grabbing my hand, trying each finger on the lock.
"Ethan!What're you doing?"
I struggled, but his grip was iron.
The third finger worked.

With a half-laugh on his face,he threw me onto the sofa.
Seeing his untouched room,he relaxed.
The redness in his eyes made him seem somewhat pitiful.
But his words dripped with madness.
"Lily, why break up?Did something guilty, now hiding from me?"
"Found a new guy already?Show him to your ex then."
"Just consider me hiding from you"I said, finding his words funny, didn’t want to argue.
"Grab what you left behind and go.Don't let my boyfriend misunderstand things."
I massaged my wrist, which was red from Ethan’s grab earlier.
Ethan glanced,his anger softening.
He fetched a first-aid kit and made a gesture to tend to my wrist.
My gaze caught the kit—a gift I'd given him, never used,I had assumed he had thrown it away ages ago.
Ethan seemed to recall to,his demeanor softening.
"Lily, give me your hand,"he said gently.
I didn't budge.
"This what you came for?"
"Don’t waste your time here.Take what you need and leave."
Noah's flight was landing soon.If the uncle and nephew met,who knows what chaos would erupt.
Plus...
I didn't want Ethan knowing about my pregnancy.
He would just cause trouble.
Apparently my words hit a sore spot.
The look in his eyes was as dark as the sky before a storm.
"Lily."
He pronounced each syllable slowly and clearly, hurling the kit out the window.
I lunged to check—thankfully we were on the first floor,no one was hurt.
But what were inside were all shattered, beyond saving.
A shard cut my arm, blood gushing out.
Exhaustion peaked.
"Guess you don't need anything."
"See yourself out."
Ethan's deep gaze lingered, but he left silently.
I sank into the sofa, unable to relax.
Something felt...missing.
As I zoned out, there was a knock on the door.
Through the peephole,I saw a familiar face.
Tie pristine, but his white shirt was unbuttoned.
Panting,a hand on the wall to support himself,I guessed that he had run here.
Noah.
My heart skipped a beat.He looked up,his eyes were like colourful fine glass.
And his smile, the most charming one I’ve ever seen.
"He's gone.Can I see the kid now?"
