Sophie's face stiffened.She quickly deleted the text and begged Mom and Dad to leave earlier

Sophie's expression soured,but she didn't give up,scheming to stop Jake.
Since I knew my time as a soul was limited, I didn't follow her closely.
When I did see her,she seemed darker,her eyes glinting with malice as she plotted something.
The 24 hours passed with nothing happening.
I wondered—Jake never bluffed.Had something happened to him?

Jake's men subdued them,pinning Sophie before him.
Jake tilted her chin,smirking."Surprised to see me?Thought I'd be dead?"
Sophie,feigning innocence,cried,"What are you saying,Jake?I don't understand…"

He faced Mom,Dad,and Ethan,sneering."You don't know,do you?"

"She led a group to assault Lily at school and spread lies about her both at home and school.Lily was never a delinquent."
"We've been classmates for years.So what if she picked me up at a bar?"
"Think about who's been causing all the trouble."He tossed a stack of evidence into the air—photos and papers scattering around them.
Mom's face twisted."What nonsense!"
Jake turned to them."Look at the evidence before you speak.I've got more than what's here."
He paused, then added,"Oh,and Sophie killed Buddy.And she knew Lily was dead all along."
