She stood beside my lifeless body, smirking triumphantly as if she'd won a great victory. "Finally dead, huh?Guess I won't need those tricks anymore."she gloated. Lifting the sheet from my face, she stared at me with a mix of disgust and satisfaction.
Only I knew how grotesque my corpse was.
In my final days,my eyes had sunken,my face bloodless,my hair gone.

Sophie flinched at my face but quickly smirked, satisfied.
"From now on,everything's mine—your brother,your family's love."
She paused, then said,"Ever wonder why I targeted you, Lily?"
I floated close,sneering."Oh,my dear'sister'you actually have a reason?"
"This is payback for letting me suffer. You're a selfish coward, Lily.."
What a load of lies.

Even dead,Sophie was pinning crimes on me.
"Remember a snowy day years ago,a little girl? You wouldn't.It wasn't you who was humiliated."
Snowy day?A girl?
I vaguely recalled it.Some thugs had cornered a girl my age.I had been about to call the police when she ran to me,tears streaming, clutching my sleeve."Sister, save me!"

With no one around,I panicked.
The lead thug sized me up,telling me to scram.
Scared,I broke free and ran,but in my head,I was screaming,Wait for me!I'll save you!
At a safe spot,I called the police.
They arrived, but the alley was empty, save for torn fabric hinting at what happened.
Was that girl…Sophie?
Her eyes welled, as she berated me.
"It's you,Lily!You abandoned me,selfish,so you deserve this!"
"You killed my last shred of kindness. But I should thank you for showing me how cold the world is!"
"When I learned your parents were adopting me,I planned to make you feel my pain I'd endured and take all their love for myself.
"But that wasn't enough. You had to die."
"I didn't expect you to die of cancer before I could finish my little game. Guess heaven's on my side!"
Her smugness made me want to tear her apart.
Sophie, that wretched girl, ruined my life over a made-up sin, framing me over and over. Then she claimed it was"an eye for an eye,"that I deserved it.
She'd never know I had tried to save her.
A phone rang in the empty ward.
Sophie answered, and Ethan's anxious voice echoed.
"Sophie, how's it going? What'd the doctor say?Is it bad?"
She giggled."Relax,Ethan,it’s just a cold."
Her tone shifted as she eyed my skeletal corpse."You should worry about Lily.If she dies out there,no one'll know. That'd be a shame."
"She hasn't been home in days.I'm worried."
Ethan's voice softened."She bullies you,and you still care?"
"She's a curse that'll live forever."
I glanced at my transparent spirit form and let out a bitter laugh.
Sophie chuckled but said nothing.
Ethan rambled on,but I heard his voice in the hall, nearing the door.
Excitement surged through me.
Would Ethan be thrilled to see my body? After all, he had wished me dead.
Or maybe, out of some remnants of past affection, curse me while grieving.
Sophie panicked and rushed to open the door, only to find Ethan standing outside.
"Ethan…listen…I didn't know…"
He cut her off.
"That body on the bed."
"Who is it?"
