I couldn't help but become vigilant. She walked towards me with the medicine.
She met eyes and pointed to the badge on her chest: Caregiver Aunt Liu?
She motioned for me to take the pills . I instinctively backed away, reaching behind me toward the cabinet — searching for something to protect myself with. .
Why was there nothing? I looked around. There was nothing else in the whole room except the furniture!
The corners of every cabinet and table were padded with foam bumpers.
Was I being held here — locked up? Drugged every day by this strange, terrifying woman? "Get out! Or I won’t be polite next time! ."
Her face was unreadable. She quietly set the things down on the table and turned to leave.
I grabbed the cup she’d brought and hurled it at the back of her head!
But she was unharmed, only drenched from head to toe.

I strained to listen — whispers. I cracked open my eyes and quietly moved toward the sound.
It was my mother!
She was whispering with a strange woman how to give me medicine!
An unprecedented fear invaded my mind. I ran downstairs barefoot!
They found me. They chased after me!
They caught me! I struggled desperately but couldn't break free from their hold! My mother was so strong!
"Why?!Why are you trying to hurt me too?!"
Suddenly — my mother’s face… shifted. It became my uncle's.
His hair was white. His face was full of wrinkles. But he was only in his thirties — wasn’t he?
"Bella, you’re sick. No s trying to hurt you."
I'm sick? What kind of sickness?
I reached out and touched my swollen belly. Tears fell one by one, and I couldn't help but let out a shrill scream!
Ethan! Ethan, help me! Where are you?!
But… who was Ethan?
