Chapter 179: It Turned Darker At The Tunnel

1991words
Melissa heard noise and she groaned as she woke up, the noise was coming from the background and it felt like she was lying on a cold floor.

She raised her head and shook her head to clear her vision. She found out that she was in a cell but she could recognize that it wasn't her usual cell. She sat up in confusion when she saw that there were some inmates at the entrance of the cell, all of them pointing at her.

She felt something strong under her left palm and when she lowered her head she gasped in shock and tried to move away.

It wasn't the hockey stick that made her gasp in shock but the blood that stained every part of the stick. She could hear the murmur of those standing at the door but she didn't focused on them, she slowly turned her head to the side in fear of what would await her and she was truly shocked when she finally beheld it, she screamed loudly and jumped to the side, holding the hockey stick with her as she willed herself to enter the wall.

Realization struck her hard that the coldness she felt just a moment ago wasn't from the cold blood but from the cold blood her uncle that had painted the floor, she couldn't bear to continue staring at the bashed and destroyed unrecognizable head of her of the man and turned her gaze to look at the walls but she soon felt the vomit crawled up her throat and she felt the urge to hurl but nothing came out since she refused to eat the nonsensical food that was served to them.

Everywhere in the cell room had blood on it, some larger and some smaller, the walls were splattered in blood, in a way that seemed like it got on the was when the man was being hit, she stared at her hands and it was dirtied with blood, her clothes were no different too, she threw the stick away when she realized that it is not the best thing to use to ground herself to reality at that moment.

'it is you again, this is much more brutal than the last offense. Hey you, lock her in a solitary cell, she will be investigated later in the afternoon," the detective that came to arrest her at the office spat at her.

'I didn't do it! I swear I know nothing of it! I didn't kill him, he is my uncle!" She screamed and shook her head in disagreement, she had not the slightest bit of idea how she happened to end up here, she had no idea that Felix was even in prison.

'That's enough reason for me to believe you. You members of the Conrad Family are nutjobs, that dead man killed his younger brother, the third granddaughter killed the grandmother only to be killed by the fourth granddaughter because she didn't obey her other to kill the first granddaughter whom you the second granddaughter ordered some hit men to run over, your father and mother refused to interfere in the business and your aunt already spread the news to gods know where," the detective said, putting handcuffs on her.

'Yes you have to believe it when I say that I didn't do it. I can't kill a soul!"

'And I don't arrest criminals," the man replied sarcastically.

'I didn't kill Felix!"

'Tell that to the blood on your leg, it is obvious that he tried to hold you back, an autopsy would be conducted and I am sure that we would find some of your DNA under his fingers since there are scratches on your leg too," he said and Melissa instinctively looked at her leg, she kissed her guard as she stared at the mark in confusion which made it easier for the detectives to lead her away.

Sick things also had to lie down in a pool of blood and sleep," one of the prisoners spat after her in disgust.

'I bet she gets off on it," another said.

'Now, all of you sickos should get back to your spots, you aren't much better than her to begin with," one of the wardens said, shooing them away.

'Are you sure that Arielle wouldn't be able to get us?" Sheila said, she stared around with wide eyes as they got out of the mini apartment they had stayed in for the past few weeks.

As soon as they left Oliver at that warehouse, they had managed to take all the important things they needed and hide it in the room.

Oliver had been beaten into a coma and there was no telling the time the man would wake up and it seemed like both Alexander and Zayn were ready to take care of him till he woke up, they didn't care about how much they needed to spend.

They opened the car and settle in the seats, Sebastian press the start button and started driving to the airport for their flight, he didn't want to think of what would happen if Alexander or Zayn happened to get their hands on him, he couldn't press down the shudder that went up his spine whenever he thought about it, as soon as they fly out of the country, he would part ways with Sheila because it seemed like the woman had caused him to make more of bad decision rather than good ones.

Sheila, on the other hand, thought that it would be of her best interest if she stick to Sebastian, she had heard of how Arielle had killed Jessica and Amy, caused Heather's death and even though there were people testifying that Melissa had good and tangible enough reasons to cause Felix's death, Sheila knew that it was Arielle who killed the man.

She also told the members of the gang, the women, to kill the non members, the men, because she didn't want to leave hint pointing to them and they agreed readily since she promised them good rewards, after they were done, she invited them to one of the branch offices for a party to celebrate the new beginning of the gang.

They all dined and wined but little did they know that she had poisoned the drinks which made all of them die instantly, bleeding from their nose, eyes and every other hole in their body, after the police's investigation they found crotalotoxin in their body.

It was a massacre that made Arielle climb the top of the list of the most wanted criminals. They were able to know that it was her because she didn't bother to hide herself which meant that she was done with her mission and out of the country or she was almost done.

Sheila didn't want to risk anything.

She was only able to let out a breath of relief when they landed at Milan, Italy.

It was the most protective place Sebastian thought of, it was good for both of them too since they could speak the language fluently.

Their cab was waiting for them and she entered with giddiness while Sebastian looked calm but it was clear that he was relieved that they would be able to start afresh here, none of them planned to return to New York.

She was planning all the things she would do in her head when she started feeling dizzy, she looked at Sebastian and saw that it was the same for him too, her brain registered danger but before any of them could do anything about it, the drug fully kicked in and they were as unmoving as a dead man.

—-----------------

When they woke up, they found themselves in a room and fastened to a pole, their back to each other.

'What the hell is going on?" Sheila asked, she shook her head to get rid of the remnants of dizziness.

'What does it look like? I am sure that you are familiar with this scene, of course we have been kidnapped." He told her and she groaned.

'Not again," she grumbled 'I am not familiar with this setting, normally, I am not the one tied up. Being on the receiving is so fucking crazy. Why the fuck did they have to tie it this hard? Don't they know that it freaking hurts?"

'Were they supposed to tie it like you were playing some games? These people that kidnap us definitely know that we are part of the underworld or they won't be this harsh," Sebastian replied and could feel Sheila trying to untie the knot. 'Give up trying to untie this knot. There is a reason it's called ‘cut off', it must have been invented by the devil itself. I have tried to untie it a lot of times but I came back blank, I had to cut it off in the end."

'Damn!"

The door opened and a man with cropped black hair and slanted eyebrows who looked like he was having a fucking mid life crises came into view, his presence made Sebastian groaned in utter frustration.

'I thought that we were over this Santiago, you had no clue there reason to follow me all the way to Milan," Sebastian told the man who glared at him with immense hatred, he continued his walk towards them, the heels of his shoes clicking with every step he took, the two buff men with glasses and guns behind him also followed his every step.

'You thought it was over Sebastian, I didn't. What you did isn't forgivable and yet you believe that I would let it go simply because you managed to flee and that I couldn't come to New York?" Santiago told Sebastian with clenched jaws. 'By the way, is she your bitch? Pretty thing you got there."

The sudden change of topic almost made Sheila dizzy.

'Please, keep me out of your business, you might want to let me go now since I have no idea of what you are talking about."

'Shut up bitch!" he snapped at her and she clamped her mouth shut but that didn't prevent her from rolling her eyes.

'How did you know that I was here?" Zayn asked.

'You shouldn't have offended Ceaser," Santiago replied.

'Fucking Zayn!" Both Sheila and Sebastian hissed at the same time, Santiago looked at them and smirked.

'You are in such a sync." Santiago said and a man entered with a container that contained god knew what. 'Let's see if you would still be in sync once the fire starts to dance with you.

'Don't, let's not go about it like this, Santiago," Sebastian said, his eyes widened in realization when the man started pouring the petrol in the container in every corner of the room.

'You can't kill me with him, he offended you, not me!" Sheila screeched.

'Too bad. You fucked him, didn't you? I am sure that you are a betrayal bitch just like he is a betraying scum. You may both meet the devil now, greet him in my stead." Santiago said, he didn't listened to their words, he only went out of the room and the men with him also followed, they had closed all the windows on their way out and made a path with the petrol, they were soon left alone in the room and they were both about to start arguing when fire started spreading in the room.

Santiago watched as the house was set ablaze with satisfaction, he could hear their scream of pain from where he stood but it was only music to his ears, after a long time, this betrayal who he once trusted more than his life and considered a brother was on his way to devil's dungeon and accompanied by a bitch.

His sleep tonight would be super peaceful and smooth, he has Caesar to thank for that.
