'I am sure that the men would get something, I just got another lead and I hope this one really works," Tiara told her and Sapphire signed.
'I still feel like all of this is my fault," Luci said and Tiara shook her head in disagreement.
'No, it is not your fault, Luci." Gladys replied to her.
'She is right. There is no way for you to know that she was planning to kidnap your daughter or that she is Heather. Anyone would feel sorry for her, having to go through stigma for a person she didn't know. Even I would fall for that," Trisha added.
'It seems even more believable since there is already someone in prison," Sapphire said, she moved closer to Luci and held both of her hands in her. 'I don't blame you Luci, I would never do that. If it had been me, there is no way she would not get Andrew out of the place that day. Lord knows how long she had been planning that stunt she pulled."
'I know Sapphire but I can't help but feel guilty," Luci replied, sniffling but there were no tears in her eyes.
They were all in the hospital room that Sapphire was admitted in three weeks ago. She is stable enough now and would have gone home earlier if she wanted but Alexander refused and let her stay here in order to make sure that she is very okay before she tries to go home.
She would be discharged today and Alexander wanted to be here but got an urgent matter to attend to, in order to put his mind at ease, Sapphire told her friends to come and pick her from the hospital.
Tiara, Trisha and Gladys showed up without batting an eye, it was hard for Trisha to be here because her husband sister and mistress threw a tantrum but she managed to get out anyway, Luci had always be there with her most of the time and she had grew closer with the rest of her friends.
Luci had also informed her father to help her look for the kid but Heather was hiding too deep, they were all worried for the kid and hope that he is alright. Heather hadn't made any move since she kidnapped the kid, not even a call to taunt them.
'I will go to SJAY tomorrow, then to the family company. I have to make sure that Melissa is not up to some funny things. Even though I don't really want the CEO position, I still can't make them do whatever they want. I am sure that she would be at odds with mother and would be desperate. I heard from Matthew that a lot of people are not giving her the respect they used to give her and if there is anything that Melissa prioritizes, it would be her pride." Sapphire said and Luci's lips curled in disgust when she mentioned Matthew name, Luci still hated the man with all her heart for making her sister cry and she didn't even want to mention her name. Claire on the other hand had been avoiding the guy as much as possible, she didn't even bother to go to the art museum, and she just went to work at her father's company for the meantime.
'I would go with you," Tiara said and Sapphire nodded. She wasn't a stranger anymore, the fact that her grandmother trusted her with a fortune and she delivered as asked made her earn another point with Sapphire.
'I have got some important things to do at my husband's family mansion, I think it is about time I let go," Gladys said and Tiara turned to her with a worried expression.
Trisha's and Sapphire's expressions were gloomy while Luci just stared at her in pity.
'Don't you think that you should see him first before deciding that?" Tiara asked and Gladys just bit her lips.
'I discovered yesterday that he lost his memories. He had done that for a while but his family won't tell me, and when I asked mother in law about it, she told me that the chance of me meeting him is none, I am the only one holding," Gladys explained. 'To him, he doesn't have anything to hold on to and he won't be reminded of it by his family members."
'So you are letting go? From the bottom of your heart?" Luci asked and Gladys scoffed bitterly.
'As if I can ever do that. I would just let them clear it out that I am not a member of their family. No matter how much I love their son or how much he loved me, how we promised ourselves forever, I have to admit they don't like me and never would, he was the one that used to protect me against them but then he isn't here anymore."
'I am sorry about that, Gladys," Sapphire said and she smiled sadly.
'It is okay. I would live but I doubt that I would ever love someone else as much as I love him," she replied and Trisha just patted her shoulder in understanding, Trisha connect with Gladys on a whole different level, they both had the same kind of in-laws and know that the men in their lives would never have time for them, while Trisha's man was inactive, Gladys man would always be active only in her mind. Tiara smiled at her in assurance.
'Just know that you would always have us, we would be here for no matter what decision you make," Sapphire said and Luci nodded in agreement.
'I would have gone with you but the family is hosting an event and I have to be in charge of everything. I have to obey them or they would have my head on a platter," Trisha told them.
'How on earth did you remain humble to those over-bearing and selfish in laws of yours? Can't you just tell them to fuck off and leave that lifeless marriage?" Luci asked.
'Sadly, no. I wish I could do that but I can't, so for the meantime I would just have to suck up to them till I am able to think of a good way out of this marriage." Trisha said with a small but sad smile.
'The doctor said that we could leave anytime we wanted. Should we be on our way now? I need to go and see Zayn later, I think he mentioned that he had something on Heather."
'I would go with you," Sapphire said immediately but the four women shook their heads in disagreement. 'What? Why?"
'You have to spend time with Andrea in times like this. You just lost your son and she just lost her brother, you have to comfort her that it is all okay in times like this," Tiara said and they all nodded.
'And you also have to take a good rest, you were just discharged," Gladys said.
'Nope. Doesn't matter." Sapphire replied.
'Yes, it does. You are going home and staying there. Nowhere else, I get that you are anxious but you have to take it slow," Luci said and Sapphire finally relented.
'Fine," she grumbled with a pout.
'Come on then, I will drive." Tiara said and they all nodded, everyone knows that she is one crazy driver and that she would never let someone else drive her when she is in the mood to drive, she was dressed in some leather jackets and pants.
'You would be mortified if Ed saw you like this," Gladys said, referring to her clothes.
'No please. Don't jinx me and make him appear at the hospital out of the blue," Tiara replied with a pout as they made their way out of the hospital, there were eyes on them but they were used to it. Whenever they all gather like this, anyone watching them from the sides would know that they were rich kids, it could not be helped.
They all entered the car and Tiara stepped on the accelerator, heading to Alexander's mansion. They were all chatting and laughing as they headed home in the luxurious car. It was fun for them to catch up like this and it was also like some sort of escape from reality.
'Tiara, Watch out!" Luci yelled, pointing to the truck speeding towards them with wide horrified eyes, everyone raised their heads with wide eyes and petrified faces, it was so obvious that the truck was moving towards them with the intention to kill them.
Tiara expression was focused and calm as she pressed on the foot break, reversed and stepped on the accelerator, pressing the gear down, the truck was still after them and it would be very obvious to even passersby that it was after them but unfortunately there were no passersby since they decided to take a quiet route.
Everyone but Tiara were frozen to the spot in fear as she swerved left suddenly and skillfully, narrowly missing the truck that was set to crash them.
The driver must have realized and saw her move too late or wasn't able to control his speed anymore, perhaps he tried to but his brake failed him, either way, he wasn't able to stop and went crashing into the wall at the sideline.
Tiara came to an abrupt halt shortly after, making all of them jolt forward with a loud gasp.
'Sweet baby Jesus! What was that?" Gladys asked in fright.
'Thank god for the favor of good cars." Tiara said, breathing heavily.
