Chapter 118: He Hurt Them
1251words
An adult coming home past midnight is not something new and strange, but when it comes to Clairestelle Carter, she had every damn reason to be worried.
She had not bothered to inform Sapphire of it after the woman had told her all she knew about Oliver, she came down for a drink and wanted to check on her kids, she never comes home past eight and she makes sure to call her and tell her the reason why she would be running late on days that she was but no text? No call? Major red flags.
It must be pretty scary to know that the man you once loved is a psycho who had probably been stalking you and monitoring you every moment, he also plans to bring you down just for the fun of it just because he felt that you have had too much fun.
She is lucky to have a man like Alexander who would do everything to assure her that everything is okay.
'What the hell is wrong with you Claire?" She asked with wide eyes.
Claire was about the last person that would ever let tears leak out her eyes for any damn reason, hell would freeze over before she did it.
'Should I make you a cup of tea? Do you want to take a shower first and talk to me later? Or do you want to just sleep and deal with whatever this is tomorrow? Is it. . ." She trailed off when Claire hugged her as soon as she was within arm's reach.
'Luci, he loves her. I let him use me, he would have had easy access to her if he had any bad agenda in motion at that time, gods! She just started picking up the pieces of her life," She muttered and Luci could feel her tears wet her shoulder. She is very curious about what happened to her but that would just have to wait until she is ready to talk.
For now she would just offer the support her sister needs from her.

Melissa was euphoric and nonchalant.
She is ready to take on whatever Matthew had to do to her, he could yell as much as he wanted, it is not like she cares too much about his anger anyway. It is normal for humans to let out steam sometimes.
She is satisfied with the fact that she was able to get that leech away from Matthew. She could take it when it was Matthew pinning after Sapphire without the woman's knowledge about his one-sided love that would probably not be returned.
But when it is Claire clinging on to him and showing it blatantly that she is in love with the man and would love them to get on with something, she couldn't stand it!
The door opened and the frown that was on the man's face didn't disappoint her expectations, not one bit.
Matthew was livid.
He looks like he is ready to bring hell down upon her but she would gladly take it as long as he had no Claire to return to, it was a win-win situation for her, no Claire means no more access to Sapphire, she knows so much about her grudge that she knows that Sapphire would forever place her friends first.
She might have hit a sore spot. Sapphire would never forgive Matthew for hurting her friend and his feelings which he had kept from her over the years would come to light, he would have a lot of explaining to do.
'What the hell do you think you would get from doing that?!" He roared and Melissa shrugged nonchalantly.
'You know what I want from your fight. It would make things a lot easier for the both of us, you have to agree with that."
'Both of us," he asked and scoffed in disbelief. 'Was that actually for the both of us or just for you?"
'It would stop me from getting too angry at Claire to the extent of turning into a witch to her Cinderella and it would stop you from seeing Sapphire which would make it a lot easier for you to forget her," She explained logically.
'Forget her?" He asked with a raised brow. 'This has got nothing to do with you, it is my damn business, not something you should poke your nose into, you have no right!" He yelled at her.
'Right my ass. Matt let us address this. How long were you going to use the girl until she knows that you are crazy for her friend who by the way is happily married with two kids, you can't stand in front of her husband without bowing," she told him angrily.
'That is none of your business. Let me be Melissa, get over your obsession over me. It has been more than ten years!" He said clearly exasperated and she broke into a sarcastic but short laughter.
'Right back at you! Right back at you Matthew! You fell in love with Sapphire the first time you set your eyes on her and I fell in love with you the first time I set my eyes on you, we were all in the same place at the same time! Why couldn't you have just fell for me and we would have connected. Who knows? Aunt Brielle would have had no option if you stood your ground and Grandma wouldn't mind at all. Maybe all of this would have never happened." She ran on, all the veins on her forehead had protruded, her eyes were wide and her ears red in anger, she let out a very bitter chuckle.
'But you just had to love Sapphire too! What the hell did she do? She was an idiot who smiled when asked to and frown when she is not commended, nothing special,"
'I liked her like that, couldn't have just let us be, at least let me be. You realized my obsession with her earlier, you should have just looked for someone else!" He was equally frustrated with everything that was happening.
'Just like Sapphire was for you. You were it for me. You think I didn't try? I tried so much to get over you but I find myself where I started all over again," She started moving closer to him. 'As long as I look into these damn eyes of yours, It feels like I never tried at all!" She said and pulled him to herself before forcing her lips on his in an angry kiss.
He was frozen for a bit before she pushed her away, she staggered but didn't fall, he used the back of his hand to wipe his lips.
'Do whatever you want Melissa, I would never look at you the way you want!" He snapped at her and marched out of her sight angrily.
She blinked back to drive away the angry tears that gathered at the corner of her eyes and fisted her hands in order to stop it from shaking.
Once again, because of Sapphire, Matthew had hurt her deeply.
