Chapter 107: The Mistress And Her Family

'Heather Smith, you have a visitor," The warder said and Heather raised her head from the corner of the prison room when she sat, away from the rest of the inmates.

She was waiting for Oliver to come and rescue her, there is no way she is going to mingle with those lowlife that were locked in the same space as her.

After all, she is Heather Smith, the beloved fiance of Oliver Gray, she is on her merry way to becoming a member of the Gray family, these are just some obstacles she had to overcome.

She stood up in glee, it must be probably Oliver who came here to see her, he is going to tell her that he would get her out of this hellhole but she already understands.

A big grin on her face as she followed the officer down the hallway, the fact that she isn't meeting them in that small cubicle the low class meet themselves only confirms that it is Oliver.

She was pushed into a room and the door was locked behind. A policeman stood outside the door with keys and guns in his hand. They should really chill, it was not like she was going to run away from prison.

The big smile fell from her lips when she saw that it wasn't Oliver who wanted to see her and the warder probably had a case with tenses because there are visitors not a visitor.

Her family members sat there, not all of them, but there was her mother, Mrs. Smith, Her father, Mr. Smith and her sister, Fiona.

She sat on the chair opposite them with a scoff, her father and mother were sitting while her sister was standing behind them.

'What have you done, Heather?" Her mother asked with tearful eyes and Heather couldn't help the eye roll.

'What are you talking about?" She asked, nonchalantly.

'Why did you admit to doing that, and publicly?" Her father asked and she raised a brow.

'Because it is the truth, duh!" She said and her sister scoffed in disbelief.

'Since when did you start caring about telling the truth?" Her mother asked.

'What?"

'You tell lies like it is your second nature so it wouldn't be a shocker if you denied every accusation even when the evidence were all laid out right in front of you but you are telling the truth without anything to push you. That is what is weird," Fiona answered and it was Heather's turn to scoff.

'Okay, you got this right. I am doing this mostly for Oliver," Heather said and they stared at her in shock.

'What?!"

'You are admitting to this although you didn't do it?" Her father asked.

'Will you chill please? How would I admit to something I didn't do? Of course I did it, but the reason why I am going through this trouble is because bad publicity is bad for Oliver at this hard time."

'And it is good for us?" Her mother asked and she shrugged.

'He is the only one that cares about me."

'And we don't?"

'No, you don't. I stopped expecting any kind of care from you when you started measuring the worth of your kids by how rich your kids' partners are," Heather said, begrudgingly.

'What? There wasn't a time we did that!"

'Wasn't a time, my foot! You had all the respect given to Fiona because she is with Mr. Ed!"

'Jeremy is my boss, I am just his secretary!" Fiona said in exasperation.

'Yet you are on a first name basis with each other. You are just a tad bit slow, in case you don't remember, I used to be Oliver's secretary too and even though no one would say it out loud to you, everyone expects you to snag that rich Italian as soon as possible just like I did to Oliver. Your case is easier since he doesn't have a bitch tailing him every now and then like they are glued together," she told Fiona and they all stared at her in utter disappointment.

'No one expected that from you," Her mother said in a heartbroken tone and she felt her heart sink, but Heather couldn't make it obvious to her family that they are affecting her in any way.

'Those who you listen to are our corrupted cousins and those selfish brats of the Conrad family who just used you for their own gain," Fiona told her.

'These acts of yours are what truly disappoints us, these are the things Marina would never do," Her father said and she furrowed her brows in confusion.

'Miranda wouldn't have been manipulated like you let them do to you, she wouldn't betray someone who took her as best friend and she definitely won't force herself on a man who doesn't want her–"

'I am not forcing myself on Oliver, we love each other!"

'I get that you do but does he?" Her mother said before putting her phone on the table a screaming match between Venita and Tina was on display.

'What does this prove? He only helps her because he has a plan. You are believing Tina's hearsays?" Heather asked after the video stopped playing and Fiona let out a frustrated sign.

'I said what I said, Miranda wouldn't be as dumb as you. Why did she have to die, it would be nice if she was here to put you straight, no scratch that, it would have been better if you died in her place!" Fiona exclaimed and Mrs. Smith glared at her.

'What? Die in her place? Who the fuck is Miranda?"

'Don't talk about your sister like she never existed, even if it was for a short while, she lived," her father scolded her, but Heather was confused.

She had no idea who the hell Miranda is or what they are talking about, she only had a sister and that is Fiona, when did Marie..or whatever they called her entered the picture.

'What the fuck.." she said in disbelief.

'Oh right, I forgot!" Fiona snapped at her. 'You of course had decided to pretend that she never existed since a long time ago, you don't answer whenever a question about her is asked and you deny any relationship you had with her, whenever you introduce family, I am your only sister.

You didn't come home when we celebrated her anniversary and since three years ago, you don't even come home anymore.

You turn yourself to a stranger at a home where you are welcomed just because of an ingrate who doesn't know your worth and is ready to move to the next available woman," Fiona seethed at her and walked away, screaming at the policeman to open the damn door he locked.

Her parents stared at her in pain, sadness and disappointment while Heather just sat there in confusion still not clear about who this Miranda of a person is and now that she thinks about it, the last three years of her life, she had spent with Oliver and never visited her family, not even once.

Even though she claimed that holding tight to Oliver is the only way she coulds urvive, she didn't remember ever being told that straight to the face by any of them.
