Chapter 92: Family Doesn't Matter but Money Does

She would manage to dodge all those reporters, no one sees all the ways out in a blink of an eye like a desperate woman.
'She just left the Conrad mansion, I want you to trail her, follow her to whichever hole she decides to stop at and try as much as possible to get a whiff of the conversation she has with Oliver,"she said once her receiver picked up the call.
She hung up and looked all over the place, her window had the view over most of the place she wanted to keep her eyes on in the mansion and at the moment all those places were empty so she moved away from the window side.
She left her room and walked down the hallway, she went down the stairs and started walking again, walking the path that led to the bad door which leads to the swimming pool.
She halted by her grandmother's study and stared at the woman who was on a phone conversation with someone, probably one of the major shareholders of her company.
She looks pitiful while having the conversation with a tired expression on her face and anyone would have pitied her for working hard but Arielle knows that her hard work is to redeem herself because no matter how hard she does this, Sapphire won't forgive the old woman when she learn of what she did three years ago.
The entire Conrad family was involved in the mess one way or the other, every single one of them and Sapphire should consider herself lucky that she managed to escape the hellhole sooner.
'I wonder what you are up to these days, you seemed to do a lot of sneaking around," A voice said behind her and she turned to see Felix, if there is something she and Sapphire had in common, it is probably the hatred they felt towards this man.
'How is that any of your business?" Arielle asked and the man scoffed.
'You have become fearless," he said with a scoff, adjusting his suit.
'I have nothing more to fear, the worst you could do is send me to prison like you did to my father and have some of your men kill me in the prison like you did to him….but I guess that I should say women..since men won't be able to get near me," Arielle replied and the scoff on his lips was replaced with a smirk, she scoffed at the and started walking away.
'Since you know that I was the one that sent him there, you should also know the reason why I did so, I am going to ask you this question once," he said when they were out of the back door and Arielle turned to face the man with a raised brow.
Another thing she hates is how similar she is to the man, they both had the same brown hair and same shade of hazel eyes, they were both tall and shared the same last name, anyone could tell that she is related to him.
'Where is the flash drive?" He asked seriously and she started chuckling.
'What makes you think that I would give it to you?" She said and his eyes widened a fraction, he was shooting with the hips, he never guessed that Marcel would give the drive to his daughter, no one would have guessed that.
It makes sense now, the reason why he couldn't find the drive after digging about is because it has been with Arielle all these while.
The flash is very important, it contains the list of many men's corrupt practices and evidence, many politicians, reporters, businessmen including and most especially the major shareholders of the Conrad Family Company, Coast Group, had their names in the list.
Anyone who gets hold of that flash already has many puppets under him, no one wants to be exposed and they would do whatever you ask them to do in a blink of an eye.
'The choice is not up to you, I am not giving you an option,"
'I never asked for one, and careful, Mr. Felix Conrad, you may have and may not have ended up in the list, I would tiptoe around this matter if I were you," Arielle said and rolled her eyes before turning to walk away while the man stared at her with a dumbfounded expression.
Did Marcel go ahead and include his name in the list?
Maxwell who was standing beside the flowers in the garden scoffed, he had heard all the banter and wanted to smash his head on the wall, why does this people consider wealth more important than blood, it didn't matter if they had to execute their family members, all would be well as long as they have their fame and money.
'Selfish bastards," he gritted out.
Melissa who was standing at the door while staring at them let out a small chuckle and shook her head at their stupidity.
'Are they dumb?" She murmured to herself and went to her room. She opened a safe and removed a blue flash that was kept there. She raised it up, staring and admiring it like it was a trophy, a smile on her face.

'I thought that you were supposed to meet your grandfather tonight, how did you have enough time to have a conversation with me?" Venita asked, staring at Oliver who was sitting on the chair tiredly, the knot of his tie was loose and his suit was rumpled, his hair looking unruly as a result of him running his hand through it several times.
'He decided tomorrow would be better to discuss instead, he didn't want to have a conversation with me when his brain had started resting, maybe he fears that he may take pity on me that way," Oliver said, downing his beer in a go.
'My grandmother is too busy nowadays, he didn't even care about the scandal, it seems like she has a lot on her mind these days," Venita said. 'Normally, she would at least scold Sapphire for making her husband spoil the family name but she looks like she couldn't give a rat's ass and instead invite her to a breakfast which the bitch in turn postponed to dinner."
'Of course she would be busy," Oliver said with a scoff. 'After all, she is trying to redeem herself," he muttered to himself and Venita raised a brow at the man.
'What are you muttering to yourself?"
'Nothing, just how much I hate your grandmother,"
'Why do you even hate her? That is what I can't guess, she is your ex-girlfriend's favorite person,"
'You forget that she hates me too,"
'Right," Venita nodded in agreement. 'You were the main reason for most of their arguments in the past, she wanted Sapphire to leave you but she declined, can't say that she was wrong about her opinion of you, you are an asshole."
'Heather is at the hospital," Oliver said, ignoring her last words.
'She finally decided to hit her head on something in order to set it straight," Venita rolled her eyes, raising her glass of wine to her lips.
'She did hit her head on something but I am not sure if it is to get a brain, I would never know though, I told you that I am ready to leave her."
'Won't her family have some things to say about this?"
'Nope, they won't. They practically abandoned her with me, once I say that she is useless to me, then she is useless to them too. Let's go to the hospital together."
'What do you plan to do to her? The last time you went with a lady to meet your fiance at the hospital, she woke up to the news of herself being something she never had the memory of."
'This one would wake up with the memory of something everyone but herself knew she never did, and she would insist that she did it."
