Chapter 88: Pathetic, Insecure & Strong

'That's supposed to be my line, why on earth are you here?" She asked and Heather scoffed while Melissa just entered the room, her eyes ran over the most minimalistic room she had ever seen and sucked her teeth in disgust.
How is Sapphire able to live here? There is not even a mat to lie down on, it was bare to the least.
'You contacted Oliver's family? What nerves you got right there to do that!" Heather screamed at her and she turned to look at Melissa who was also staring at her and the woman nodded in confirmation.
'Yeah, you are right, I told her all about it," Melissa said and Sapphire scoffed. 'You were trying to contact the Grays because you know that they preferred you to Heather, Heather here is one of my people, I can't just watch you do that to her can I now?"
Heather reached for Sapphire's shirt and dragged her closer to herself by the collar of the shirt while staring into her eyes.
'You wanted to tell them about the aborted baby, didn't you? You were trying to send me out of Oliver's life through his family, aren't you?" Heather whispered to her, gritting her teeth in anger and face red.
Sapphire only wanted them to be responsible for the kid that is still breathing in her, she didn't want pride to get in the way of her kid's growth and survival, it is just not worth it, she didn't even have Heather in her train of thought when she reached out to them.
'Now that I think about it, you are s fucking pathetic," Sapphire said in a tone that made it seemed like she just realized that.
'What?"
'I mean, if you are so sure about that damn man of yours, you didn't need to get worried over the woman he left for you,"
'Do you want to die?"
'Would that make you any less of a pathetic piece of shit?" Sapphire asked with an evil smirk which made Heather mad, how on earth could Sapphire still get the mouth to talk.
'Shut up!" Heather said and slapped Sapphire again and this time, she raised her head quickly and started laughing maniacally. 'Are you crazy?"
'Are you insecure? Do you think I have a shot if I tried to seduce Oliver? It makes it all the more worse if his family found out how much of a whore you are, you snatched up your friend's fiance!" Sapphire said and Heather moved backwards and stared at the stupid woman with a scoff.
She still didn't beg, she was supposed to grovel, with tears and phlegm all over her face, she was supposed to break, shatter and never to come together again.
'You know what guys? Beat her up!" Heather said, staring straight at Sapphire's eyes.
Sapphire started moving back in fear when she saw the men advancing towards her, her eyes darted around and she saw Melissa staring at them with a bored expression, she quickly ran to her and went on her knees in front of her.
'Melissa!" She said sharply and the woman stared down at her blankly. 'Tell them to stop. Please tell them to go back," she begged back to stare at the men in horror, she swallowed the lump in her throat but felt bile rise up instead.
The men were hesitating because she was with Melissa, they couldn't attack her when she was standing with the mistress.
Melissa squatted down and stared into Sapphire's eyes and at the men, then back at Sapphire, the helpless woman nodded vigorously.
'You have to do something Sapphire,"
'Anything, I swear, I would do anything," Sapphire said desperately, she would do anything to save her baby.
'Wipe yourself away from the surface of the earth," she whispered and Sapphire's hand dropped from the woman's keg limply. 'That is the only thing that can satisfy me, are you sure that you can do that?" She asked and Sapphire stared at her like she already drove a sword through her chest.
Melissa stood up and stared down at her before kicking her hand away from her feet as she made her way out of the room.
'See? Even your sister doesn't want you here. Tell you what Sapphire? You caused all of this, even if you had just left Oliver when he started coming home with the lipstick on his collar and smelling like women's perfume, I sent enough signals to tell a dumb man the gist of the event but you are too stubborn," Heather said and moved backwards.
'Just deal with her guys, whatever decision you come to, just take care of the results," Heather said, a silent message that there would be no problem even if they kill her, and get out of the room.
The men crowded her where she kneeled and started hitting her in various places, and as she felt the pain in various spots in her body, she wondered just how much was paid to these men to treat her mercilessly.
It is probably the amount she used to buy bags and clothes, how tides turn and for her it was for the worse.
Her consciousness was fading in and out as every one of the smacks hit her, she already felt numb to the pain and she lost the motivation to struggle when she felt the liquid running down her thighs, the sensation and the feel of it on her body as life seeped out of her.
Just as she was about to close her eyes and stop the fading darkness, she saw that the men who were beating her were being attacked, she couldn't hear anything, just a long beep that you feel when you hit your head on something and she closed her eyes.

She stood on top of the bridge and stared down at the water that was flowing peacefully. It was such a beautiful day to say goodbye to woes, it was exactly the type of weather she liked.
Turns out that it was her uncle that sent some men to rescue her, the men had been standing at a distance since they saw Melissa's and Heather's men were at the house with the women but they didn't interfere because Uncle Felix thought that she needed some beating to set her head straight.
The man didn't know that her baby was hanging on a loose thread and the small beating rendered her useless to the man, he had her sent away from the hospital as soon as he was informed that she lost her baby, even though she was not alright, half dead and limped.
But everyone is not angry at the world, even though the world is the most unfair thing to exist, the women at the hospital didn't have the heart to send a woman who just lost her baby away, so they tried to take care of her and she tried to be strong for a day but she couldn't do it.
She isn't a strong woman and damn it if she didn't know.
She fled from the hospital and here she was waiting to gather her courage before jumping.
And when she did, the birds who were playing on top of the water scattered at heavy objects that disrupted the peaceful flow of the water.
