Chapter 53 Envy

1733words
It was a bright morning in Rosepion City. The nightclub had not yet opened, but someone had already come to visit. He was Asher Winter, and his men greeted his arrival.

A man had been sitting on the sofa waiting for Asher Winter's arrival. When he met Asher Winter, the man smiled satisfactorily and gave him a document.

'I found what you wanted. You shouldn't have to worry about something small like this. Only three people invested, but one invested a large amount of money," he said.

Asher Winter smiled and immediately took the document lying on the table. He read it for a moment, which contained Lily, Professor Aria Star, and Moon Rosela.

'This woman invested with a high value. Who is she?," asked Asher Winter, looking at his men.

'I think she's just a rich woman. But it's tough to find this woman's identity because she's not on the list of investors for a well-known company. I think this woman is just trying to make a profit without seeing how this company is developing," he said.

A beautiful woman immediately approached Asher Winter. She was the woman who came to the party that night with him and sat next to Him.

'You don't have to worry about small companies. They just want to work with your company. No one intends to bring you down as long as there is no leak from your own company," she said.

'Did you find anything else?," Asher Winter asked.

'Some of the leaders are crazy about women too. I got quite a lot of money. Forgive me, Mr. Asher Winter? I left you at the party. Some of them said they intended to work with the Grey company. I don't know who it is, but they keep linking him to you."

'It doesn't matter, as long as you get interesting information for me. Take good care of yourself among them. People like them wash their hands more often, you know!" Asher Winter warned her.

The woman nodded, 'Okay, Mr. Asher Winter. I will remember your message. The man named Lucifer and the host seem to have ulterior motives. The heretical ritual doesn't seem right. I feel suspicious of them. There is something behind it all but I can't prove it to you."

'Here's your payment!" said Asher Winter, taking out a brown envelope containing money and giving it to the woman beside him.

'Ah, thank you very much, Mr. Asher Winter," said the smiling woman as she took the brown envelope. She began to open it and count the amount.

'I will contact you if there is any further work!" said Asher Winter, immediately leaving while carrying the documents.

Asher Winter got into his car and left this place.

Rosepion Apartment,

I wake up early and prepare breakfast. I don't need to cook much food; I only cook for myself. It's been a few months. I live alone in this apartment.

Since I first moved here, I tried to remember everything and try to start something new. Even some of the phones in the cardboard box I never opened again.

Put the food on the table with mineral water, then sit down. Pray and start breakfast. Staring at the chair in front of me is an empty chair.

Suddenly, the new phone received a message. I immediately read the message while I was eating.

'Moon, today is a day off. We have a sudden and very important activity," the message sent by the chef.

'Okay, thank you for letting me know," I replied to the message.

I put the phone on the table and thought about my part-time job always being off.

'Huh, gosh! What happened? I hope I still get a decent salary. Should I look for another part-time job? But… if only Undermoon reopens, I will look for medicinal plants to sell," I muttered to myself.

I continued breakfast until it was finished.

I immediately packed up and prepared some things to go to Undermoon. Right before the mirror, I said, 'Let the Moon, all the moons unite. The description of the rope of fate that decides to bring me to your existence."

I was pulled into the mirror and arrived at Undermoon. I immediately walked into Undermoon. I remembered the first time Lily brought me here.

Walking, enjoying the beauty of the morning with the cool breeze. Suddenly, it changed when I heard gossip about myself.

'Look at that girl! She still dares to come here after not knowing herself."

'Huh, she is indeed a lowly girl! Bitch!"

'Why should Alpha Grey help that lowly girl?"

'Isn't he clearly taking advantage of her face?"

'She is really annoying. She should have just died in that forest and been eaten by monsters."

The gossip about me was circulating along with the insults. I didn't even understand what was happening. I went to the library room, which I thought was the safest place.

When I opened the library door, it was quiet. No one was there. I immediately went in near the glass window and saw several Undermoon Academy students talking outside.

'I heard that the girl without magic took advantage of Alpha Grey's kindness. That's why she got a lot of medicinal plants."

'Is that true? It's so evil to take advantage of other people's abilities."

'I heard that Alpha Grey liked her so Alpha Grey intended to help her. But, do you know what she did?"

'What?"

'She cheated on me with another man on that hunting day!"

A shocked expression, 'Huh! Crazy girl. Shouldn't she be taught a lesson? Does Alpha Grey know about that?"

'No, Alpha Grey is blindly in love with her."

I heard that. I immediately closed the curtain and hid under the bookshelf. I don't understand why everyone hates me so quickly without thinking about the truth.

I sat on the floor right under the bookshelf. There's nothing I can do now. I can only distance myself, this face, from the sight of people at Undermoon Academy.

The library door was opened by someone who entered slowly and looked around.

'Moon, are you here?" Lily asked as she entered the library and looked around.

I heard the voice and immediately said, 'Yes, I'm here among the bookshelves below."

When Lily heard the answer, she immediately looked for Moon. She saw Moon sitting below, which surprised her. Moon's face looked sad, and Lily thought this was because of the spreading gossip.

Lily immediately sat beside me.

'It's okay, Moon! Don't listen to them. They don't know the truth at all. Alpha Grey has told me that. So what you get on that hunting day is entirely the result of your own efforts, not from Alpha Grey's help," said Lily, trying to calm down.

'But they won't believe it even if it's explained like that, it's all my fault for not having the ability," I said, hiding my face between my folded legs.

'Hah, they're really too much. A gossip like that shouldn't be circulating. I'll teach those who mock you a lesson!" Lily said, who immediately got up from her seat.

Suddenly, those words made me immediately look at Lily, 'If you explain the truth it will only add to the problem especially if you hurt them with your ability. They will hate me even more."

Lily stopped her steps and sat back down beside me. I saw Lily's annoyed face.

'That's right. Then what should we do?" Lily asked, looking at me.

'Yeah, I don't know what to do now either!"

'Okay, it's not bad to sit down here. I myself don't know why gossip like this is spreading. I really didn't know that you and Alpha Grey were working together on the red dragon. They said you were the only one who wasn't hurt at that time."

'Yes, I met Alpha Grey on the way. He and his team invited me to go to the medicinal plants. I also didn't know beforehand that I would go to the red dragon. I picked herbs and couldn't protect them. It was also my fault for not protecting them. They got hurt," I said, regretting my actions.

'Hah, actually Alpha Grey is a man who doesn't need to be protected. He isn't a rare animal that should be in a zoo. Alpha Grey won't blame your actions. People like them are just jealous," Lily said, trying to calm the situation down. 'By the way, can you tell me about the herbs and other materials you got on hunting day? It made everyone shocked and jealous. You know they'll probably say things like, ‘Hah, damn it! How could we lose to that girl without magic? She even got rare and better materials than us!'. That's it, isn't it annoying."

'Hah, that. I got it because someone helped me. But I remember he said, ‘Why didn't you run away from me?'. He said something funny like that and thought he was a monster," I said, then chuckled, remembering Seikyu Yuuki.

'Wow, you made a new friend there. Have you met that person here?"

'No. I looked for him but I couldn't find him. He is a good man. If I meet him again I will ask for his phone number."

Lily put her hand near her mouth, speaking in a low voice. 'Do you like that person?"

'Yes, I think so. He is a good man."

Lily was suddenly surprised. She frowned and smiled, then suddenly changed her expression. 'Yes, I see. Too bad you already have another heart. Suppose there is another man who likes you. Will you open your heart a little bit?"

'I don't know. I find it very difficult to open my heart here. Everyone has magical abilities as a judge so I feel very unsuitable to be beside other people."

'I see. I'll go buy a drink first. Wait here; I suddenly feel thirsty," Lily said hurriedly, leaving this room and closing the library door.

I took a deep breath and looked at the bookshelf before me. Rows of books on medicinal plants were in front of my eyes. I immediately took one book and started reading. I tried to read and find something interesting despite not having magical powers. Staying here without doing anything was boring. But if I leave this room, my ears will suddenly feel hot because the gossip about me sounds annoying.
